No progress yet, been extremely busy, but my friend drew a picture of glitch for me :D
Image
She tends to draw faces femenine, but i think she did an amazing job. :D
This is her deviantART, just to help her out. http://typhlosion-kannon.deviantart.com/

The cannon arm is kind of unnatural. It looks like it's just part of her wrist. The sword doesn't have a pommel or it's own part of the arm to itself? It should transition a little better.

But I think it's a good representation.

the lack of transition is due to the fact that the picture i gave her had none.
Glitch is male, but like i said, she made the eyes and mouth femenine. :P
And the cannon was supposed to be in place of a hand, like the sword. So in a sense, it is part of the wrist.
But yes, good representation. :D

Well, then it would be worth it to shorten the sleeves to show the transition from arm to cannon/sword. They can't just attach without problem, there has to be something that connects them into the arm that wires into the rest of the body(a plug or socket maybe).

I tried drawing this really crappy representation of Glitch and what I thought he would/should look like. I feel like the black shirt shouldn't be a shirt. It should be some sort of energy that starts at the base of his arm and runs up his arm, if you know what I mean. I can draw it if need be.

Nah. Itll always and forever be a shirt. I think that some time in the future he will have a semi normal left hand, and hold a beam swordish thing in his right, that is attatched to his hand in some way.

he doesnt. Hes inhuman. He doesnt eat or sleep. He breaks things, mostly accidentaly, gets mad becasue he thinks that the thing broke on purpose to spite him, and rages.
And kills stuff as a result.
He doesnt use chopsticks.
And no, its a long sleeve shirt. Ive explained above and in the past that the design may change.

So i was bored in my BCIS class, and was ahead on my work, so i decided to do some spriting. I actually started this back when school first started, and just remembered to bring a flash drive and get it home. I was surprised to find that the swing actually animates relatively well. The run... it needs work. ignore it. But its been a long while so i decided id just show this to you people.

Actually, personally I think the swing is a tad awkward, if what you're attempting to do is a regular bat swing. Frames 3 and 4 need to have the bat at a different angle, the way it is now is as if he is sweeping the floor with the bat. The rest of the frames are good though in that animation.

alrighty, ill try and change the angles. The stance itself i find isnt very accurate either, but it seems to work.

this one came out a little bit faster :/ may have to slow it down and stuff. I attempted to fix frames 3 and 4, and had to do 5 too because leaving it the way it was made it look awkward. Look better?

I agree with Kiki. The angle is better, bit still looks low and strange.

I think it also needs to be a little more dynamic, to show the force of the swing. The motion leading up to the impact point, and then the motion after do not show enough force.

I shows something closer to a backhand stroke in tennis than swinging a bat.

Perhaps you could start in a more dynamic pose with the bat higher. Then make him take a step forward as he starts to swing the bat at something closer to a horizontal movement (not exactly horizontal, but closer). Seeing as this style doesn't seem to have blur, you should reduce the time of the swing by a frame or two, to show the speed and power. (Maybe at some delay when the bat would potentially hit something to show the force).

These are just suggestions so if you don't like it, than don't take it.

sounds good, ill work on adding dynamic to the pose. more anticipation frames is basically what im hearing, and still make the angle a little better, right?
