Name (aka Handle):
I go by either Reto or Renzo
How old are you?:
16
Which characters do you play in SSF2? Why do you play these characters? (Note: do not list characters that are not currently in the game):
I Currently Main
Zelda/Shiek
Zelda is a character that I have played for a very long time. I personally have always enjoyed her unique play style, which is often effective. The fact that she can transform while many see this as a downside to both Zelda and Shiek to the fact that they could have an opportunity to another attack. I see this as an advantage, I am someone who can effectively play both classes. When playing an online match in ssf2, it is impossible to know what class your opponent can pick, since these 2 characters vary in strength drastically it allows me to be able to switch between the two to find the best counter. Captain Falcon
Captain Falcon is a character that I enjoy playing. His combo oriented play-style is something that I can always enjoy. Often used in counter-picks
Secondaries Include:
Fox
Fox was a main I played for a short while after my Zelda. His grab game and juggling game were what convinced me and had me stick to this character for a long time, I still can use him, and I do when necessary.
Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff is a character that I play to improve my aerial game. It's also a something something I play as I enjoy the floaty play-style as it is different from everything else I have. If I am able to one day able to perfect my rest, I may step it up to a main. (something i can use as an effective counter-pick)
Marth
Marth is a character which I play due to his unique play-style. Due to playing I have begun to get better at spacing and timing.
How much experience do you have with official Smash titles? (SSB64, Melee, Brawl. Include in this answer which characters you play/played.):
I personally have played SSB64 Melee (a large amount) Project M (Not technically a "official") ( Most played smash title for me) Brawl
Have you ever attended any Smash tournaments? If so, give some details about the tournament (number of participants, which games, etc). How well did you place?
I have not ever attended any Smash tournaments. I often play within a competitive group between people at my school
When did you start playing SSF2?
Late 2011~Early 2012
What is your favorite stage in SSF2? Explain.
Final Destination ~ I enjoy this stage as it is something that is plain, but yet effective. This is mostly my own play style rather than technicality. I feel all my mains show effective results when battling here. I have also grown fond of it due to the fact that this is my stage of choice when training.
Who, in your opinion, should be placed first on the SSF2 tier list? Under competitive settings why would this character perform on a higher level than all others?
Link, though I don't main Link or enjoy his play style, I have seen some good Links. His ability to space as well going in with his far/midrange play style combined with his close range sword combat make him very effective. Though I have never seen a very effective Link to necessarily beat me. I have seen some very good ones, with very good potential.
Who, in your opinion, should be placed last on the SSF2 tier list? Under competitive settings why would this character perform on a lower level than all others?
Hands Down, Chibi Robo. I find him an interesting character, but he lacks competitive ability to perform well. A well trained player can easily read him, his moves all have a large delay which can easily be avoided if placed in a distance. When I do pair up with him rather than being annoyed I feel glad, as it is an easy win. His only effective move at his arsenal could be his tooth brush (side-special) and maybe his side smashes. Other than that I find him a relatively bad character that is also hard to use.
If you could make only one change to SSF2 as it currently is, what would it be and why?
Though I am not sure how this could be effectively and cheaply done, a way to have better latency in online matches. Playing people with a lag is very annoying and troublesome. Thus I find myself disconnecting myself from the match as it can become so bad, to the point where it is unable to play.
What is your view on items in competitive play?
Items imo are unfair. The element of randomness is to high, the relative proximity an item could spawn to someone could easily decide the fate of the match. I find that smash is more of a skill game, and should stay that way rather than a luck based game.
Do you have or can you download Skype? You don't need a mic or webcam.
I have Skype downloaded and am almost always on it.
Why do you want to join the Smash Flash Back Room? What will you contribute? Why are you an exceptional applicant? Be as detailed as possible.
I feel like this can be a chance for me to give back on the community. Since Zelda/Shiek is sort of an unusual character I believe I can share my knowledge and skills with people for those who may think of maining them. I also believe while giving back I may be able to gain some in return. I wish to be part of this group and soon help develop this game in the competitive branch.
Additional information (Include in this section anything relevant to your application. This could include links to videos of yourself playing.)
