Hey and welcome to the Flash Help and Tutorials section. This is a place where you can come for help with any of your flash needs and together we will work to solve them for you. It's also a place where you can share your flash knowledge with other members. Overall we want you to feel welcome here but there are a few rules that must be followed in order to keep this area functioning to the best of it's abilities:

1) Always attach a prefix to new topics. The prefixes should be used as follows:
- [Request] Use this when you are asking for help from other members (normally in the form of code).
- [Tutorial] Use this when posting a helpful guide or tutorial.
- [Question] Use this when asking a flash related question that doesn't necessarily require help in the form of code.

The following prefixes may also be seen but should not be used:
- [Resolved] This means that the help request has been solved and the solution will be contained within the topic.
- [Locked] This means that the topic has been locked but kept present in case it contains anything useful.
- [Answered] This means that the topic contained a question which has been answered.

ANY TOPIC FOUND WITHOUT THESE TAGS MAY RISK INSTANT DELETION WITHOUT A REPLY. The reason being is there is too many topics that don't have them and it is hard to tell who wants help, has has received help or who is giving help. It may actually help us keep on top of all these useless topics too.

2) Please remember this is a Flash Help and Tutorial area, therefore only flash related questions or guides are allowed. Anything other than flash may be moved elsewhere in the forum or deleted.

3) Please do not request help that will require a lot of work. We are here to help you of course but by help we mean resolve a problem you are currently facing or help you on your way to figuring things out for yourself.

4) Do not request entire scripts or games etc... The point of using flash really is to create something yourself that you should be proud of, again we may help you on your way but it should be your own work.

5) If you are asking for help try and be as thorough as possible and if you can, try to provide code or proof of what you have achieved so far - we are more inclined to help if we see that you too have put effort into solving the problem beforehand.

6) This isn't a place for showcasing your work unless you believe it would benefit others in the way of helping them to learn flash.

7) Don't double post unless it is entirely necessary to do so. Also, try and be clear and concise when posting and try to post things that have a relevance to the topic at hand - please do not spam this section with useless posts.

8) Please use the search function before asking a question! There's a chance that someone may have already asked for what you wanted. (added by DT42)

9) Do not ask for ways to get Flash Macromedia or any other Flash making program. Those topics will be automically locked(added by Nac)

10) Please summarize the topic title - use this for example:

[Request] How do I create a motion tween of a ball bouncing up and down?

-- Can be summarized like so --

[Request] Bouncing Ball Motion Tween

Also, there are quite a few tutorials that were written on MG by me and a few other members before it was updated, those of which will be transferred to the new forum shortly - but for now they can be found here: http://archives.mcleodgaming.com/viewfo ... 5cb2fefe23

Because the link listed above links to the old forums which have been locked. I cannot edit the URL's - therefore you will need to replace the word 'forums' in the URL to 'archives' in order for it to work. Like so:
Code:
http://forums.mcleodgaming.com/viewtopic.php?t=3107
Becomes
http://archives.mcleodgaming.com/viewtopic.php?t=3107

Overall, have fun and happy flashing :xd:
