To try something different, let's try something... exactly the same. A Beta tournament to see exactly what's carried over from our last scene. We've all been fiddling around with what's new, but let's see what's going on with what's old. What exactly has changed about the things we're used to.

Rules:

• 4 stocks, 8 minutes.
• Items and hazards off.
• Sets are best out of 3; winners/losers/grand finals are best out of 5.
• Stalling Clause and Sudden Death Clause applies.
• The Beta newcomers, * , are banned. Anyone else is fine.
  (*Mega Man is being counted as a newcomer because his drastic redesign has made him an almost entirely different character. Allowing him would defeat the point.)
• At least one replay must be submitted for each set, so it is strongly encouraged that both players save their own copy. If a replay fails to be submitted, the set must be replayed, but if a user is caught intentionally withholding saving a reply in order to replay a set that they lost, they will be disqualified.
• Check-in begins one hour before the tournament.

Stage List:

• 1/2/1 stage striking. Dave's Stupid Rule applies.
• Gentlemen's Clause is restricted this time in that it cannot be used to choose a stage not on the list. That would defeat the point.
• The v0.9b Online list will be used, since almost all v0.9b tournaments were online.

NOTICE: This tournament has been cancelled due because I'm feeling generally disillusioned with SSF2 Beta at the moment. I am not in a decent state of mind to host a tournament now.

What about lloyd?

I thought about that, but Lloyd, despite getting a lot of changes, still has most of the same attacks and is still pretty recognizable.
Mega Man was gutted out almost completely; he still has two of his specials (three if you count Crash Bomb), but very few of his standard attacks.

I'll give it a try at promoting it later.

I originally had it planned for this past Saturday, but there weren't enough entrants. So right now, it depends on what's convenient for those entering.

No. Characters are chosen in the normal fashion; that is, the double-blind during first game then counterpick fashion.

By the sounds of it, a Saturday morning will be the best bet to accommodate everyone, but I don't know exactly when. If you're only available until Noon Eastern/11 AM Central, that might be a problem. A lot of people aren't awake yet at 10/9c (including, often, myself), and if I held it at 11/10c, it might not finish on time.

So Im not familiar with the Whole "counter Pick" or "double Blind"

But to save you a trip for now, what I mean right now is that first game of a set, both players choose their character without knowing the others'. On later games in the same set, the winner chooses their character first and announces it, so the loser can have a chance to pick theirs based on that.

But do we need a discord for these tourneys or no cause i don't have one

and i also saw at the top that FD wasnt in the counterpicks or starters? the community chose that? Is there an issue with that stage?
