viewtopic.php?p=1286504#p1286504I got warned for this post. Please tell your moderators not to warn people for making a joke about a series in a topic about that series. Thank you.

well technichally it falls into the rules as a broken rule but it's actually a joke about the series so it falls into a not off-topic post
but you got warned for a reason

Technically it's offtopic, it'd be a coin-flip warning for me if I saw it. Especially if it derailed the topic. *Shrugs*

It isn't off topic, though. It's a joke about the Metal Gear Solid series in the Metal Gear Solid thread. Not to mention it was the first post, so there was no "discussion" to be derailed

You can definitely derail a topic from the first post, but that's not what's at hand.
I wouldn't have given a warning for it, but because of the nature of the post, it could be given one.
It was just a smart aleck response in a heavily moderated forum in a brand new topic. If he had said the same something along those lines and then further added something along the lines of "But really, how many hours of cut scenes do I need to sit through before I actually get to play?" I'd say he'd be pretty safe.
Just because it's Kyuubit it doesn't make it any more or less acceptable to start off a topic with a wisecracking response.

Newer mods have that tendency. They'll grow out of it.

If the first response to a topic is going to be a joke, I would highly recommend following up that sentence with something to facilitate more conversation. If you just tell someone their posting in the wrong section, even if it's a joke it's only going to result in people ignoring you or getting into a the whole debate about movies VS videos games Locking this
