mgr is good but it kinda pales in comparison to better games in the genre and i kinda overrated it at the time since it didn't have much competition when it came out

banjo's alright but rare's other 3d platformers and yooka-laylee show that it was like an amazing fluke and i think it's sad that they're best known for those when they were better at a bunch of other stuff. where the f*** is diddy kong racing 2 or a spiritual successor or anything. please

I unironically agree with most of this. MGR's good and all, but yeah there are better and less over-the-top things in the same vain and it's Bayformers compared to the cinematic masterpiece that is Kojima's Metal Gear Saga. And I never played B&K/Tooie as a kid, and didn't really find it too groundbreaking as an adult either and I have to agree that Banjo isn't really a notable video game icon.

no it isn't but it's not far behind & I can't fault anyone for calling it their favorite of the era

hell I still think it belongs in the top tier today. Some of the levels in that game still impressed me when I played it like a year ago. Honestly the only part of it that doesnt hold up in 2020 is the camera lol
