Simultaneously there were five bursts of light that rose to the sky and exploded in a brilliant display of sparkles, promptly followed by cheers from the onlookers. Following the dimming of a yellow light, on Jack's dominant arm was an intricately designed golden forearm brace bearing the depiction of an axe, before he could do anything further a large axe seemed to materialize out of thin air appearing in his hands. Likewise for Kassidy, Sydney, Jacob, and Pierre, a similar piece of armour appeared on their dominant arms. The piece of armour was the same, though each seemed to have a differing colour and weapon depiction engraved into it. Kassidy's was aquamarine, depicting the image of a scepter, Sydney's was a soft baby blue, depicting a shield, Jacob's was red, depicting crossed hook swords, and Pierre's was a dark silver, depicting a gun. Similarly to Jack, the four weapons depicted on each of their magical piece of armour each materialized in their hands.

Their connection with these new weapons was odd, as it seemed to give them insight and clarity. It was if they had been imparted military combat knowledge that made using the weapon seem second nature to them. Further still, the five of them seemed to innately become aware of certain abilities that they had now, but never had before. However the true nature of their abilities seemed distant, as if they were unsure of what exactly they could do with the strange names to these strange abilities they now possessed.

The tree creatures seemed momentarily stunned by these happenings, though they soon snapped out of their reverie and resumed the offensive continuing their charge. The one that had pointed it's wooden sword-like weapon jabbed at Jack deftly. While the one that had targeted Pierre made a odd growling noise sounding of snapping branches and swung an abnormally large wooden club at the old man.

Kayla of course didn't notice this as she was too busy running, though she did stop running once to tell the boy who was looking to her for some sort of guidance to "Quit yapping and try to survive"

Zane could feel his mouth drop literally to the ground. He also had stopped running. Boy, he was just been making bad decisions left and right. Perhaps being head strong and reckless paid off after all. He made a mental note to remember that. Each of them who had stayed had different colored armor and some sort of weapon sign engraved into them. Wait. All of a sudden they all had weapons that popped into their hands that was on their arm. A flood of emotions hit him then. Regret, embarrassment, eagerness were only the tip of the iceberg. He had a choice. He could either continue to run and accomplish nothing in what could all be a dream. Nightmare actually. Or go over with those strangers and hopefully get armor and a weapon like them and end this forced battle. But, all this trouble over armor and some weapon? Nothing even made sense anymore at this point. Choosing the latter, he rushes back over there, possibly looking like a fool, which he was so far doing a great job at, and confronts one of the over grown roots.

"You know, I would spew something witty at you, but I doubt you'll respond."

Kassidy laughed audibly as a bracer appeared on her arm, and a scepter in her hand. It seemed to fit somehow, and she felt like she had wielded it for years. Something in the girl's mind just snapped, as if floodgates had just been opened to release a tidal wave of potential she never knew she had. This fever dream was becoming more interesting by the second. Kassidy gave herself a brief pat on the back for being able to construct such a complex illusion in her own mind.
Meanwhile, the plant creature was not amused by the girl's antics. It raised its brambly mace high in the air with the intention of squashing her. Completely immersed in her hallucination, Kassidy decided to go along with it by trying out her new found powers.
"Mirage veil!" She called, having absolutely no idea what it would do. Her eyes widened as she was completely coated in water.
How helpful. She thought bitterly, rather disappointed with the result. However, as she looked back to the creature, she realized that it had completely lost track of her. It simply stood, confounded, its weapon still poised above its head. Kassidy couldn't help but chuckle. She's just pulled off one hell of a disappearing act.

Two suns and a arena of tree people. All of this pointed this entire thing to be a strange hallucination. But hallucination or not, getting hurt by one of those trees wasn't something she'd think would be pleasant. Even more fantastical was part of their party suddenly having weapons. One even managed to make herself invisible with it (as far as Akira herself could tell). She stayed a safe distance from the treemen; She didn't have any way of fending them off.

"Hook swords. The plot thickens." Chris muttered as the weapons appeared in his hands. "And the red on the piece is a representation of fire, from the deduction that blue represents water." The knowledge he gained recently felt somewhat.... normal, yet he did not know what it was. The tree momentarily paused after the light, but continued to approach him. Jacob sifted through his mind for anything of possible use of range, but didn't find anything that directly implied a projectile. The tree loomed over him as he just cried out "Burning Twister!".

In an instant, a spiraling wall of fire surrounded Chris, and proceeded to set the tree on fire. "Huh. Guess it is a twister..." Chris thought in his head. The tree burned down very quickly, and Chris immediately ran towards the group that was trying to run away.

Jack did not bother to question why the brace and axe appeared in his hand as he was charging. At the moment he was glad he actually had a weapon. What did puzzle Jack was the sudden burst of knowledge of his abilities. His slight confusion was interrupted when the walking tree jabbed at him, he immediately pulled to the left saving his skin but not his shirt which received a tear. Angry and not even thinking as to what would happen, he hopped back away from the root being and shouted "Thunder Hammer!" The axe immediately began letting out sparks that became more intense until Jack swung the axe at the root persons chest which resulted in a burst of lightning and booming thunder. He looked back away from the burst and looked down at his brace and axe chuckling, he turned back to see if the root person was in one piece. He saw nothing there but smoke.

Hayden started running again. A certain person told him to 'Quit yapping and try to survive'. Suddenly, he stopped. A sound that sounded like something burst startled Hayden. The wind pushed his spiky blonde hair to the left. Weapons suddenly became materializing out of their hands, and by their, he meant everyone but him and the girl who was running. Or at least he thought. "Aw c'mon! They get weapons to defend themselves? But I don't? Hmm. Maybe it was because I was a chicken. Alright, I'm coming for you, tree-root humanoids!"Hayden said, before dashing off to the battlefield.

Kayla stopped confused after hearing the booming of thunder and turned to see that she was the only who was still running to safety. However four of them now wielded weapons and were quite competent with them much to her surprise. She did however mentally note that they were short one person, whom she could not see. She'd probably had escaped.

"What the heck is going on here?" she said puzzled, the root men had yet to make their way over to her as she was the farthest from the creatures so she watched the scene with disbelief. The two suns in the sky had already signified that she was most definitely not on Earth anymore, but magical weapons? What kind of aliens would abduct their subjects only to give them evidently potent weapons.

The root creature "heard" Kassidy's chuckle and made a rumbling growl of satisfaction as it swung it's bramble mace towards where it believed the young woman to be standing.

The tree creatures immediately dispersed after seeing one of them struck by lightning and the other burned by fire and charged towards Hayden and Akira. Roots crept up from the ground and tripped up Chris in the middle of running, while further roots began to crawl up around Jack's legs as well. The creature in front of Zane snarled and struck out with his gnarled hands to scratch the boy.

As Kayla watched the scene intently, she failed to notice that a root creature was forming behind her. That is until she heard the sound of snapping branches behind her. What happened next was a result of various nights alone walking home from school in Manhattan; Kayla immediately whipped out her Swiss army knife and flipped out the knife while turning around to face whoever was attempting to mug her.

"You best back up...you...you.." her eyes widened as she looked up at the creature but stood her ground. She regretted not whipping out the small saw instead of the knife, oh well, for all she knew this could've been one bad hot dog. Kayla was then greeted with a flash of green light and a double-ended glaive appeared in her hand. A look of dawning flashed through her eyes before she smiled slyly.

"Time for a taste of your own medicine," she said while deftly dodging the swing of the creature's claws. "Eternia vine!" she called out and immediately various vines erupted from the ground and began to wrap themselves around the creature ensnaring it. "I dunno how the hell I did that, but I'm alive so whatevs" she said sassily with a spin of her double glaive.

It was a snap, the sound that preceded the attack and Pierre could see the tree-being begin the swing. It was telegraphed and for someone who has been in combat situations before it was almost all too easy to counter. There was no telling how the plant would react to a punch so for now, it would be better to immobilise it. Thus his choice was to tackle the creature will all his might, attempting to knock it over while avoiding the arc of the weapon by being far too close for it. He didn't even register the armour or extra knowledge that crept in to his mind. There were no time for distractions.

Fortunately for Sydney, none of the humanoid creatures attacked her on the initial charge. Something even stranger happened afterwards. A large, royal blue tower shield seemed to have materialized over her right arm. The shield was something completely new, but it didn't seem unfamiliar in any way, almost as if it was a item she's had since a young child. Looking around, almost everyone else had some sort of weapon of their own. What was more amazing was that the others performed some superhuman feats, from disappearing from sight to creating a bolt of thunder. It was all quite amazing in Sydney's eyes.

Now feeling more secure, Sydney gave a proper survey of the area. The creatures started to spread out and go for the people without a weapon of sorts. One of the boys had been tripped by some roots. Before any of the tree men got to him, she made a dash towards the fallen boy. Standing by his side, Sydney felt a strange feeling through her body, almost as if this was a normal situation.

"Glacial Wall!" she said almost unknowingly. With that, a large wall of ice formed in front of her. She turned towards the boy and offered her hand. "Are you okay? Let me help you up," she said.

Taken off guard, Kassidy barely managed to duck the blow and roll nimbly to the side, flanking the plant creature. It was about time she went on the offensive. The girl spun her scepter rapidly in her hand before rushing the plant with a barrage of quick strikes. She danced around the creature swiftly as she attacked, preventing it from pinpointing her location. Finally, the root toppled over with a resounding thud.
Kassidy stood victorious, letting out a gleeful cackle as she sheathed her baton. This was the most fun she had ever had in her life! Approaching the felled creature, she lifted up the mace it had left behind, stumbling a bit before gaining her balance. Anybody watching would have simply seen the giant weapon floating in midair. In contrast to Kass's scepter, this large club was unwieldy and cumbersome, but she could scarcely care less. She was going to make the most of this dream while it lasted.
"Wooohoooooooo!" She yelled at the top of her lungs, charging headlong for the next opponent as her cloak of water evaporated.

Ruggedly, Zane barely managed to dodge the humanoid root. That was when he was granted his weapon. A mace that appeared most cartoons he just to watch when he was a kid. It felt weird. Even though he just received this mace, it felt like he had used it forever. His eyes widened as if he remember something. He quickly whipped out his phone and snapped a picture of this creature with his free hand. Of course, if this was a dream the picture wouldn't be on his phone when he woke up, but he couldn't help himself. Putting his phone back in his pocket, he gripped the mace with both hands, and swings it at the big root in an effort to attack it.

"Thanks." Chris muttered to the lady that freed him. "Just going to try out another one of these magic spells that we have. Inferno Burst!" he shouted out without warning, while pointing his hand towards one of the roots that had previously entangled him. From his palm came an explosive ball of fire, which, true to its name, exploded, burning up the roots. "I have to make sure I'm not c***." he thought.

Quickly noticing the vulnerable Hayden and Akira, Chris quickly decided to bring out the last move he could think of. Pointing to them, he cried out "Flame Heart!". A protective sphere of fire surrounded the two. "Not what I was expecting, but it should be good enough for we to cut up these remaining weaklings." Chris muttered, as he ran carefully towards the trees, who failed to realize that they may get burnt up by the ball of fire.

"Gah!"A sphere of fire enveloped Hayden and Akira, almost instantaneously."It's getting hot in here."Hayden said, before trying to find a way out. He touched the wall of the sphere, and immediately, his hand caught on fire. "ARRGGHH!!" All of a sudden, a bright flash of light appeared in both his hands, and he sooner realized he was now wearing gauntlets in both hands and holding two scythes in a way no one could've imagined, a reverse grip. "Air swipe!"Hayden shouted, blasting a crescent shaped construct of compressed air at the wall. The fire seemed to vanish. "So, shall we go now?"Hayden asked, before taking her hand and running towards the nearest root creature.

In his moment of glory, Jack was interrupted by roots crawling out from the ground underneath him and crawling up his legs. "AGH get off you damn roots!" He yelled as he began to hack at the roots with his axe while simultaneously pulling off the other roots with his left hand. He looked around as he was trying to get free and noticed that some of the teenagers that had run away had come back, probably to get their own weapons. "Haha, stupid kids should have stuck around in the first place" he mumbled.
