Egoraptor is a f*** joke and so are his opinions on video games
Anyway I didn't actually get to watch anything on the new game and I'm too busy atm to go back and watch it so I'll just ask:
how awful was the voice acting and how much of it was there

Game play had almost no voice acting, from what I saw. Link was confirmed to remain having only grunts.

yeah the only voice acting was like five lines at the very beginning saying "wake up link" and things to that effect
which is weird especially since it means you're not gonna be able to input your own name anymore but it seems like it only feels out of place because it's a series first. Once you can ignore that it's fine

tbh who even named Link differently anyway. I mean the character has since been established for so long as 'Link' that I don't miss that feature at all. Throughout gameplay the voice also comes up every here and there, mostly to guide the player. It's used very sparsely, likely in line with the game's mindset of being able to go wherever you want.

Nintendo's Miitomo software has been surprisingly effective at reading different words and names, so coupled with Nintendo's swear-blocking software, I wouldn't be surprised if they really take a step in the direction of people hearing their own names read. I also wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to make the game say swear words out loud anyway.

a lot of people named Link differently, everyone still called him Link so we all know who they're talking about

tbh if you've never named him Lonk or something like "you a******" you haven't been playing the same games I have no dice. the voiceover was a recording, not text to speech

My sense of humor isn't that banal
I linked the Egoraptor video as a because people like him had been talking about LoZ's roots as an open world exploration game full of mystery and challenge, something that the series has been missing for a while and I'm a trifle miffed that one simple opinion statement has everyone talking about the name/naming dynamics of a characters whos's pretty f*** well defined at this point
I guess everyone knows that, though. I'm just glad things seem to be turning out well for this open-world idea. The footage seem great and the tech seems pretty consistent throughout the demo. It's like they looked at a ton of available scenarios, nitpicked everything they saw, and fixed them accordingly. Hopefully it'll still seem like that on release.

I named each Link differently for every different Zelda game I played.
The Hero of Legend was "Lynk" The Hero of Winds was "Lank" The Hero of Time was "Lonk" The Hero of Hyrule was "Zelda"
And so on.

egoraptor's chest argument is hilarious
i have never once felt that the treasure chest animation was too long to the point where it stopped me from enjoying the game

That was a small part of a larger scheme of complaints, but I get that. He was making a mountain out of a molehill. :/ Speaking of naming your file "Zelda," I lied. I name at least one game file "Zelda" if possible to see what happens because sometimes you get neat s*** like a second quest to look forward to or this:
