Am I misreading that or is he implying that Robin can use smash attacks in the air

Because if that's the case holy s*** that's off the rails

yeah it's super smart. of course the fire emblem character that requires item management (or the closest thing to it) in smash is the one that is doing it all in-universe in the actual fire emblem games. it just makes a lot of sense and is really cool.

I'm wondering if each individual Tome will have a set of uses, or if the tome in general has a set of uses. And if there is a way to regain the Tome after losing it.

From the post, I imagine that after Robin tosses a tome out of weapon decay, whatever special that tome is tied to has a cooldown time like the Levin Sword. I think it's gonna be kinda-sorta-not-really like Vaan's weapon switching mechanic from Dissidia: Final Fantasy; Using a special make that element's tome appear, and it influences your normals that don't use just the Levin/Bronze Sword until you either use a different special or the weapon decay kicks in and Robin has to toss the tome.

Oh, I guess Robin's damage meter will also have weapon decay counters for the sword and the currently equipped tome?

Term: Oh man, I thought the same thing about Air Smashes, huh.

It sounds like Sakurai meant something like, Robin swaps out the Bronze Sword with his Levin Sword when a smash attack is used, then he can use it until it breaks, which gives him back the Bronze Sword and no more Levin Sword when using smash attacks until a set time passes.

yeah that was my understanding of the levin sword as well. can't confidently say i have any idea how the tome thing works though, just going to wait for more clarification.

All I know is that I'm certain that whatever tome he has in his hand effects his jab. It's slash slash [whatever element from the tome he's using is] and that's super rad

Someone on Smashboards pointed out that Female Robin's Bronze Sword glowing here is most likely our indicator on when your next Smash Attack will resummon the Levin Sword.

Nah, it glows like that when you do an attack with it. All swords do.

They might not get an indicator, it might work like the Links boomerangs where you get no indication, you just have to wait a few seconds and then you can throw another. Just saying its possible.

idk, she might not be mid-attack, there's no sword trail or anything and they're pretty prominent in this game. i like the idea of the glowing sword being the indicator as well.

If you watch the reveal trailer I remember it staying like that shortly after a swing. Plus it sort of looks like she's coming off of her jab.

On another subject, do you think they'll release a special edition smash themed 3ds and/or demo's for the eShop that have no play limits? and I'm also hoping the 3DS version is download play compatible, so I can beat on HMN players using only one cartridge for easy character unlocks
