You just gotta learn to work with it. So what if it doesn't snap grab every time? Ike is tourney viable and his doesn't snap, neither does sonic.
If you learn how it works exactly, and you know the consequences of it then you shouldn't have a huge issue with it. Sure it can be gimped but again, just learn to work around it.

ike has super armor during his up-special and he has more options for recovery. sonic has a really good recovery that not only goes a lot higher than Cloud's, but he can act out of it to cover himself.

if your opponent knows when you're vulnerable (read: constantly off-stage) then you should be dead. if Cloud is offstage, you give him a little love tap and he's dead.

i've had someone kill me with their jab combo because it knocked me too far back after i used my jump to recover and my up special didn't snap.

mario's dsmash/dash attack/dtilt, sheik's dtilt/dair, zss's dtilt/dsmash/dair, sonic's fsmash, and many other top tier threats will have a great time against Cloud. Cloud has so few options near the ledge it almost hurts, i feel like i'm playing Melee Roy.

I think I did a couple of times, but most of the time its by accident.

If you are unsure if you did something on purpose, then it was not on purpose.

I can't say I ever have, but I've been footstooled by bots intentionally. If that counts.

Well guys, I'm officially done with Robin. A string of frankly embarrasing defeats on Anther's Ladder have shown me that maining Robin isn't worth it any longer and I've had more success with other characters in two days than I've had in six months. So I have now dropped them to a secondary.
