I have to disagree, personally. Melee's ledges were a lot less forgiving than Brawl's

I know some people are probably all about that but I don't like to have to fight the ledge as well as the enemy

I agree with you their because I hate not being able to grab the ledge when I'm turned around.

it made recovery more strategic which adds more depth to the game and the strategy, also making characters more unique from one another based on how they were able to handle being on either side of the battle for recovery.
and I'm not just talking about facing the ledge, you shouldn't be able to grab the ledger while you're mid-attack

I think this is a personal preference honestly. I'd love for a large portion of Melee mechanics to return, but I understand why others would rather avoid them.

Anyways, I think auto L-cancelling would be nice. It removes the (pointless) learning curve while retaining some of the fast pace and potential pressure games of melee.

You're not the only one. They're treated as separate character anyway. It be better if transforming was something as pressing Up taunt then Down taunt. That way they are still connected, but they're each given the opportunity for a new attack.
