If Nintendo did this, they would probably try to make people pay for it by making it impossible to 100% the game without it. "See this star coin slightly out of your reach? You need to pay 99 cents to be able to jump to it. Because remember, you need it for 100%!"
Let's just hope Nintendo stays away from micro transactions completely.

One step at a time. First, I don't even need to finish this guy's intro to realize I'm gonna hate his guts. Second, there's no way in hell Nintendo would try this, because Nintendo is repelled by the concept of anything "micro". You know what their last DLC was? An entire game.

Shouldnt some of the DSi Ware games count? I remember Mario vs Donkey Kong 3 being not much different from the second game, and it was download only.

For argument's sake, I'm counting games with extra levels and missions, like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 3D or Fire Emblem Awakening, as "medium" sized DLC, and reserving "small" for things like costumes.
