It kinda seems like an item I'll turn off after confusing it with the Ray Gun a million times
Hard to say though, maybe they look really distinct in game
I know in Brawl I always turn off the Deku Nut/Franklin Badge because they're too small for me to tell what I'm getting

the ray gun is also rather wide. almost comparable to the cracker launcher. the steel diver looks a lot like N64's ray gun.
