This part actually is just a rumor, but APPARENTLY Nintendo has said that it will be less gimmick-centred this time, and they want to focus on making it surpass the other systems in terms of graphics and power.

If this is true, all I can say is f*** yeah.

I don't think they should scrap motion, but make it only for selected games like the motion board.

Sorry guys it's not actually called "Wii 2" it's tempory name is called "Nintendo HD" waiting for a mod to change the name of the topic.

BTW I boomed for this new system I knew there was going to be a new system simply because if you remeber the DS released in 2004, two years later Wii. But don't expect it til November 2013, for the reason of a system lasting atleast 5 years, and because Wii is still selling.

Sorry meant to speculate ecspecially since this all rumors from multiple sources, btw since 3DS is starting to play out like a mini home console with games that have appeared only home consoles (like Paper Mario), if there going to be shifting the perspectives a little different this time.

The Wii dropped in sales 30% last year, actually. This is the first time since its release that it hasn't been significantly ahead of both the 360 and the PS3 in terms of sales. Admittedly, that's only because everyone who wants one has already bought 3, but my point still stands. The system is dead.

Which is why many believe there is going to be a new Nintendo Home Console that will be unpredictible like the Wii.

EDIT: *hard time breathing* HD touch screen on the remote perhaps..unlike the Dreamcast remote which I had no idea what the screen on there did. Man But I'm pre-ordering the system if it gets confirmed with those features!

It added extra info to the controller so that you didn't have to constantly swap screens if you were playing an RPG of something. It also doubles as a memory card and the screen worked when removed so you could see what was on it and delete stuff without having to plug it into a console. It was pretty handy actually.

If that is true it will be a complete fangasm.

I'm actually pretty excited about this. I really really loved the SNES, 64 and Gamecube. If Nintendo makes another console that's actually up to date in terms of processing power and graphical capabilities, and doesn't tie it to a stupid gimmick (and honestly, the controller screen sounds more like an enhancement than a gimmick), it'll definitely be something I want to get my hands on.
Can't wait for the revelation videos by Nintendo to see this in action.

I know this is a very controversial thing to say, but my all time favorite console is my Gamecube, it had good games, but it didn't have to rely on gore and violence to do them. If NHD can get that right it'll be awesome.
