So can someone clear this up fo rme? When you make a cutscene in flash do oyu have to use the timeline? And when you import an animation do you have to set where each frame goes?

Say someone was making a cliche fighting cutscene/film would they have to put the effects whenever someone got hit or can you make it say put this effect here whenever this does this?

On layer 1 I put the background. And on layer two I tried importing animation. Do I have to make another layer 3? If I want the sprites to interact with each other? Flash confuses me so.

I use flash mx.

Say someone was making a cliche fighting cutscene/film would they have to put the effects whenever someone got hit or can you make it say put this effect here whenever this does this? What do you mean by that? Make an empty movieclip, then add you effect in that movieclip. then go back to scene 1 and add the effect by clicking and dragging it from the library.

I use flash mx.

Does this help?

Or you can just make a new keyframe and add a transition and make the cutsence there.

get a vCam. tutorials on newgrounds contain vCams in them you can download, but it's for flash 8, knowing that you have flash mx, go to the Flash Collab 09 and go to action sctipt then find vCam and make your own by following the instructions. here's the link:
http://www.newgrounds.com/flash
