If the point of turning post count off in the SSF2 section was to deter spamming, it's not working. That's why we have mods, anyway. Ask anyone, I definitely don't have a problem warning spammers, lol.

Anyway, I really fail to see why discussing the project that McLeodGaming is working on doesn't count for your post count on the McLeodGaming forums while discussing other people's projects in upcoming games does, or why discussing news posts about SSF2 does, or why basically anything not related to MG does.

it should also be of note that post count is even enabled in the designated spam board (lounge)

so in a way, we value s*** over discussion of the actual reason anyone comes to this site and i think that says a lot about the mcleodgaming community

Post count used to be disabled in the section.

The only thing it "says about the mcleodgaming community" is that people change some things and forget to change others

@Esper That's not really correct. I don't think Lounge is a dedicated spam board - posting a page full of smileys would probably get you kicked. Lounge isn't s***, rather it's a more relaxed atmosphere with almost no quality control. Spam was never a very accurate name, which is why we don't call it Spam anymore.

I've always thought having post count disabled in any section didn't make sense, but SSF2 section especially so

disabling it for arrivals makes sense

we know that people say "hi welcome read the rules" because of a sense of duty and not for the post count now

keep it that way

Forums don't bite or hug people, so I guess we should just not worry about it ever again.

Just because it's not the biggest issue in the world doesn't mean it isn't worth discussing.

Personally I think the post count should be turned on for the section.

It's disabled from incrementing in a majority of places, and Joined date can tell you someone's age.
