You can use shine for a bit more than reflecting :P. Get in the habit of jumping the instant you land a shine. This can set up for usmash or grab. Also get practice with shining for edgeguarding, as it is one of the few aerial attacks you can use midair without dying. Someone else prolly knows more than I do, so that's all the advice I'll offer.

I had this great idea for comboing with Fox: utilt->down air->repeat. I have no idea how effective this is on humans (cuz it wrecks CPUs in ways I never knew possible), much like everything else with Fox, it is impossible to do online. I tried playing Fox online to test this out but I felt like I had absolutely zero control over my character lol. Need to try this offline against humans...

It no work very well. They'll probably be DI'ing upward/to the side to escape a utilt chain anyway. My guess is that it depends on the size of the character. Since I've tried something simliar with smaller characters, but I could be wrong.

Might be a good % racker for low %'s.

DI'ing upward would be really good, because then they don't go away from Fox lol. And I'm saying that this would look like Falco pillar combos, not repeated utilt. If anything, this tends to work better after a little percent is put on, maybe about one upthrow->uair. It also stops working pretty fast, even on CPUs it tends to stop after 2 or 3 repetitions. This can be extended however with platforms, but knockback scaling on the dair and utilt is too high even with the staling to do this combo for long periods of time.

The only other character I've found that can do this type of combo (because pillaring is awesome) is Chibi, with repeated with judicious use of utilts and dair. Not many other characters have the necessary requirements for pillaring.

I actually realized I used this combo in Brawl lol, took me a minute to remember since it's been so long. And it does, it doesn't work very well. Even if you perfectly get it one time, it can be hard to mantain all the other times. It's good for people trying to learn Fox, but not for top level play.

Did you really cut the ending because you lost?

I know you like the fast rushdown playstyle, but you really should use Blaster when you're full-distance away. It's a better option.

TSON likes to zone with Zamus' moves; throwing out whip and paralyzer shots (with terrible spacing by the way *cough cough*), trying to predicted your approach to see if you'll slip-up and run into any of those moves. You're far out of his range, however, and patiently wait for an opening to approach.

But you dash-dance while you wait. Instead you, should short-hop lasers.

TSON engages in zoning periods that stall the match about 5-10 seconds at a time. There's several moment in each match where the two of you are at opposite ends of the stage. He's zoning with moves that are never going to hit you and you're dash-dance. Shoot him with laser at these points. You'll rack-up damage on him for free, which would force him to approach you if he doesn't want to fall behind in percentage. That's something he's afraid to do because you easily overwhelm him at close-range and his defense isn't strong enough to withstand your offense.

Overall, it was a good set. I think you can easily adjust to his playstyle.

Fox is seriously crazy...

He may not be top tier material, but he's no slouch once you get the flow goin'. Got some pretty sick followups from dthrow and dair.

>_>

With online matches, any time you watch them there's a bunch of things you'll do due to input lag that just look really stupid. Like in the first match I had to make sure I was recovering correctly so at one point I daired and landed on the stage and buffered a jumping upB but my dair landed on stage which I wasnt sure about so I looked like a dummy. It's stuff like that - that's why my spacing looks trash a lot of the time. I think offline the match would probably be a lot easier for SS - there were a lot of times when I was recovering while he was holding the ledge and the buffer didn't let him roll onstage to ensure the kill. Likewise, there's also a lot of times when I end up ftilting instead of dash cancel fsmashing and stuff like that, though.

Your blaster tip is really good though. I wouldn't get as many grabs on him if he would blaster instead of dashdancing.

I find it way harder than before to short hop after a shine.
For some reason I end doing a full jump for like half of my attempts...

I find it really hard to short hop online with fox in general.. But anyways onward to the fox and wario matchup.... This matchup is a 50-50... Both character's seem to be able to combo pretty well against each other..

Edit: Then again I haven't played fox in ages so maybe there's something I'm missing here...

Online, I say 100-0 for Wario. In fact, if anyone can beat my bro slaypes' Wario with Fox, I'll personally mail you a cookie. Offline, who knows. Probably still adv Wario.
