forearm looks oddly bigger than the bicep (which feels like an anomaly to me)
other than that, maybe the face looks a bit... smiley or something? it's like you're constantly grinning with teeth showing (not sure if that's what you were going for or I'm just bad at being able to see what' going on in that area due to the relatively white colors there)

look neat though

Good catch, I think making the upper arm 1 pixel wider will solve that issue. As for the face- he is supposed to be grinning constantly, yeah. Though I may have to change the skin pallet to make it stand out less against the white.

Subtle motion can often be more difficult than animations where every frame is a vastly different pose. Practise'll make perfect though.

And the third 'alt' is based on Sanji, so I'm glad you picked up on that!

A nitpick but I feel like his heels should raise
Other than that I like it, the colors work pretty well with eachother. Did you draw it on paper first?

Haha don't worry, that's not a nitpick, feedback is appreciated. I was actually thinking the same thing myself, but I think that I'm going to try only having the heel of the back foot raise since I think that fits the concept better, constantly tip-toeing would be a bit to energetic for such a laid back pose in my opinion.

As for your question; I did not draw it on paper, no. Like I said the pose is very influened by Gyro's and Remy's and I wanted to use a sprite skeleton as a starting point. I'm currently working on an animation that I did try drawing out first though, I hope I'll be able to post it soon.

I see what you mean with the blink but I don't think I'll be adding it. In most fighting games you usually don't spend a lot of time in your idle stance.

Here is the Backwards Walk animations. If you actually make it move backwards it becomes more obvious what it's supposed to be. I consider the animation a WIP because it still has some jump frames and overall one frame will probablyneed to be switched out altogether

Yeah, that makes sense. It'll definitely help emphasize the character's traits.

I like what you've done so far with the backwards back, although it's hard to give thoughts because it's a w.i.p, the moonwalk is pretty fitting.

Now that I'm more satisfied with how the legs loop, I'm gonna take another look at the upperbody and use the darkest shade to add in more clothing folds like in the Stance.
