Yes but 3D models are made out of sprites.

What? No. 3D models are made out of polygons, sprites are made out of pixels.

To add to this: textures =/= sprites. Even if they are both created in the medium of pixels.

Yes your right Steven. But its possible to turn sprites into 3D models so I just assumed that's how it's done.

No.. it's.. really not. You can't just turn pixels into polygons or the other way around. You can make one resemble the other but you can't just turn models into sprites with a magic poof. For Smash, the models are custom build from the ground up, textured and animated.

Technically you could take a s*** of screenshots of models and have pseudosprites, but that's really not worth the energy and entirely besides the point. The point, of course, being that Pikachu is the cutest damn thing every right next to a puppy.

yeah you can capture Models per frame doing the something similar to screenshoting, but I think it's more so like baking the model to an image ...s*** like that but essentially sprites aren't Models whatsover and vice versa just as the 3 people above stated. Sprites are like drawings on paper while Models are like sculptures in space...

Sakurai quote for this picture: "Little Mac's side smash attack is his straight right punch...but it can transform into an uppercut if you tilt diagonally upward, or a body hook if you tilt diagonally downward. The body hook is the most devastating of these moves and it doesn't blast the opponents away. The trick in activating these punches is to avoid tilting the controls diagonally from the get go--instead, tilt up or down right after the smash attack starts kicking in. You can also tilt up or down while you're powering up."

That's cool. I know other characters could angle their smashes in Brawl, but none of them had such a dramatic difference

Maybe they will this time around. I mean he already added finishing jabs to continous jabs so who knows.

I was always a fan of angled tilts. Long-legged characters had these sweep attacks, especially both of Samus' forms.
With Mac's body blow, I wonder if it's something like Melee Falcon's Homerun Stab attack he did for the first part of his homerun. It gave crazy damage for a single hit (32% when fresh), and applied a decent stun.
