Oh, that makes sense.
JamesClyde
Scummy feeling from posts and seems to be acting the same as his previous game, where he was scum. Discuss.

Oh, look, another self-vote. Because we haven't seen Brik pulling that in previous games.

Objection!
Firstly, you unvoted in one of your first posts in this Mafia game, without even having the patience to wait a little longer to gather information that the town could actually use. You also said that the voting frenzy from the starting page wasn't being of any help. On the page following the starting page, you unvoted before even giving the RVS a chance. That is why it wasn't being of any 'help' to you. And Panthera didn't say that we should not vote at all. He said that we should all unvote and start to scum hunt from there. And you agreed with him, saying that you would FOS anyone who didn't unvote in the next 48 hours. You agreed, and disagreed with Panthera, which seems that you're trying to get people to follow what Panthera says, while at the same time disagreeing with him so that you will stay out of suspicion. You disagreed with him first, by asking him why he wouldn't want us to use the only tool at our disposal, then agreed with him, even taking it to such extents as to FOS anyone who doesn't unvote. I would call this buddying, but I'm not prepared to make such drastic conclusions at such an early stage.
I'd like to stick with my vote, but for now,
FOS:194

Of course I disagreed with him when he said what he said, but then we fixed that issue. Also, I'm suspecting people who will keep voting after 48 hours, and that looks like a big enough time frame so everyone still sticking to it IS indeed suspicious. (I was going to say 24, but it's new years eve, so it's fine to not be too active on the forums).

Woah the game started already? It's also has about 3 pages to read, but I'm sure that the regular voting tradition every mafia game starts with. Anyways we should probably discuss what exactly the dark red dot means on the alignment list. We know that there is clearly some sort of different mafia group, but it's nice to speculate some alternative possibilities.

1)How long have you been playing mafia?
Since March, 2012.
2)Which alignment do you like playing as the most?(mafia,townie,third-party)
Personally, I prefer the air playing as the third party, especially when they have a different objective to win.
[/strike]3)Which role do you like playing the most?
I personally like playing as a Vigilante.
4)Which role do you think you play well as?
I personally play better as a 3rd Party. I did pretty well somewhat during Pokemon Mafia.
5)Why did you join this game?
Joined it because I haven't been in a full game in a while. Gives me something to do as well :)

Unvote
Alright. Ten townies, that's clear. 3 scum, 3 werewolves as Terra said, and one third-party? The werewolves would be like any other scum, right? I feel like the main scum group takes up all the more common scum roles. Like goon, roleblocker, godfather, and such. While maybe the werewolves use some more intriguing roles?

I honestly meant to write random lynching. I am not opposed to reaction testing people (I have done this before in many games) but I'm warning the rather volatile town to slow down with the voting. Not only does this get us nowhere, but it also allows scum to slip by and vote a random townie without having to back up said vote. I am wondering why you are voting me immediately without giving me a chance to even explain my actions.

Random lynching? Seriously? Time to relate back to your old post.
Panthera leo wrote:
Yeah, uhm, could we get a real vote count? It's kinda unnerving to see all these random bold votes. I will tell you first thing, though. Random voting (don't confuse this with leading a lynch on scum) on the first day is almost ALWAYS a scum move. I'd suggest that everyone unvote so that we can get a real look on things going on.

Normally, no one lynches randomly. We also did not mention anything about randomly lynching. What I want to know, is why you brought that up. Care to answer, Panthera?

You said, and I quote
Quote:
Normally, no one lynches randomly

This is untrue. In many forum mafia games, including the ones on MG, whenever a lynching frenzy kicks up, MOST EVERYONE starts to vote to lynch at random. Just reread page 5, or in fact, I'll quote it for you.

One does not need to mention random lynching for it to happen so quickly.

JamesClyde wrote:
Ramsey, why would you want us to start from scratch when we have no evidence to work on? That would just be stalling for time. As 194 said, why would you want us to not use our only tool at disposal right now?

Ramsey's wanting to start from scratch is kind of 50/50. While the random voting/lynching/whatever the heck you want to call it at this point/etc. provides very little information, if any at all, it does show who hopped on the bandwagon from early on and possibly (and this is a slight chance), we can detect some scum "vibes" or tells from whoever tried to vote quietly and leave.

Lightning wrote:
Oh, I thought we were just doing this stuff because it's tradition lol

Wait, what? Did you mean answering questions is tradition or randomly lynching on D1 traditional. Regardless of that, think for yourself and don't worry about traditions. I'm wary of this post right here.

Honestly, I feel that Panthera Leo's conservativeness is unwarranted at this point in the game. This is a seventeen man game, it takes nine votes to lynch. No one was anywhere close to feeling the noose. This pseudo-concern about "random lynching" (which hasn't happened once in the history of McLeodGaming Mafia, mind) is a hallmark of scum, not town. It is pure fluff designed to cast the author in a town-coloured light, while providing no actual material to help us progress.

Suspicion: Panthera Leo

By the by, even if we did "random" lynch, it would be almost guaranteed that there were scum on the wagon, likely amongst the first and last three votes. All in all it would be a net gain, not a loss.

194, you mentioned discussing your night 0 action. If you or anyone else can do this without making yourselves prime targets for the mafia, please do so.

Like TWOK said, he's acting just like he did in the last game, where he was scum. Insert the generic "Don't hammer till we squeeze information out of him!" line here.

I don't wanna random vote Cactus of all people. I'd rather vote somebody else. Like, I don't know, Vote: 194.

Seriously? Is that the best you can do? I thought you were better than that. I try to get the town to end the voting crze, and you accuse me of being pure scum? Ha.

Brik, I want you to tell exactly how a random lynch would benefit the town. Right now, and don't give me the "there's a chance that we could hit scum", because there are at least 7 non townies.
