I'm back.
I would like to start off with spriting a stage. I had N's Castle in my mind and, well I will sprite.
Just a question before starting: How should be the Layout?
My idea was make the stage like Spear Pillar (with Zekrom or Reshiram behind attacking). And make the Layout part in the Roof of the Castle, with a long balcony added. According to this image:

What do you think?

That'd be awesome as layout; would Zekrom and Reshiram have the same attacks as Dialga and Palkia?

Obviously no, they have different types and different skills, Dialga and Palkia are the Time and Space PKMN, while Zekrom and Reshiram are the Yin and Yang.
Btw, my ideas for the music:
Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem Theme:

Unova Elite 4 theme:

Vs Regular Legendary PKMN:

Vs Wild PKMN:

Route 10:

N's Castle Medley (N's Castle, N's Room):

Are the songs fitting?

Made the Main Roof: Image Where should the players run? In the Roof Part, The Platform like Part or in Both?
Any criticism? ^_^

It's pretty good for a start, although it looks like half of it was flipped, which is fine since it's a mansion. I think you should outline the stage after you color it.

Thanks for the compliment, the only thing I would need help was on Zekrom and Reshiram's sprites.

I haven't sprited in years (almost literally and I wanted to come back into spriting)
I wanted to sprite some more stages, but I have been really busy with school so, here's something I forgot to post months ago:

A Mawile sprite I'm not gonna continue. I just wanted to update a bit here before the main event starts.

Currently, I am working on Brinstar.
This is what I have got so far.
Image
I used the Tracing method which is getting pretty popular, so I wanted to try this out.

Will continue tomorrow.
Here's what I have done so far.
Image
-Obviously, I am gonna have to replace the textures with colors, but I got to finish the tracing.
-If you are wondering about the pit between the two parts, it's because the stage will split apart like in Melee.
-Zebetites and the Walking Chozo Statue will be animated later. The organic growth below the stage won't be animated because it's not a necessary feature.
-I will try to sprite the Creature at the background which resembles Mother Brain.
Leave your toughts.

I feel like tracing is getting a bit overused at this point, but it's definitely a good way to practice. I think tracing should evolve to custom work, but good luck!

I think it will be very hard now to remove all the filling. If you want to trace you should just trace the outline in a random colour, like pink or green, then select just that colour with a colour select tool, then copy and paste in a new file, that way you have the complete outline, but without anything in between. Because now you will have to erase everything inside the outline, which could be time-consuming.

Also Clubby is right I think.

Yeah, tracing is getting overused.
But in my opinion, it's perfect for stages.
Characters need personality, and tracing won't always give you that. Stages, in the other hand, most of the time stay static, so the personality factor is not that used, therefore, it's a good technique for beginners (like me).
Sorry for no update, been kinda busy.

It's more about improving than personality in most cases. Instead of being able to make semi/custom stages, like SSF2's battlefield, it becomes a bad habit to just make stages out of previously done ones.

Well in some cases, it's better to stay faithful to the original source, when someone is recreating a Past Stage.
Of course, I have to do original stuff, but spriting Past Stages can come in handy if you want to use guides about perspective.
It's just cheers the moral a bit more.
Taking the textures out was easier than I tought:
Image
Looks worse that I tought, but I think it will work.

How to trace quickly: show
1- Trace the drawing
2- Press Ctrl + I to invert the colors
3- Go to Images -> Atrributes -> Black and White -> OK
4- Press Ctrl + I and presto.
Thank you wikihow
