I noticed that when megaman was using his shield in the game the shield did not go down. It also showed that in the trailer that when bowser used his shield it stayed the same.

the shields weren't out long enough to noticeably get smaller.

I noticed this too, perhaps it doesn't shrink when it's not being hit? I actually use the shield sometimes for other purposes (i.e. I'm using a code online on Brawl that glitches, gotta have people know I'm playing as two people) And they were, just tapping the shield button shrinks it a bit. EDIT: Also, C/Ping my own post from somewhere else: I really hope that either it's unlocked in chunks, or you can't easily unlock everyone this way. Lemme just post some of the more ridiculous* conditions to unlock characters, while removing the okay/Subspace Emissary ones: UNLOCK DAT STUFF UP: show Wolf • Play 450 brawls • Beat the Boss Battles mode with Fox or Falco after completing The Subspace Emissary
Toon Link • Play 400 brawls • After clearing The Subspace Emissary, clear Classic mode
Jigglypuff • Play 350 brawls • Beat 20 or more Events after clearing The Subspace Emissary
Ganondorf • Play 200 matches or more in Brawl • Using either Zelda or Link, clear Classic on Hard difficulty or higher
Game & Watch • Fight in 250 brawls • Clear Target Smash with 30 different characters on any single difficulty level
R.O.B. • Play 160 brawls • Get 250 different trophies
Lucario • Play 100 brawls • Beat Target Smash!! on all difficulty levels (Playing in either 1 or 2 player mode will satisfy this condition.) ((I only put this one because in order to unlock them all, you need 4 runs of Classic on each difficulty except one that's not Easy.)
Captain Falcon • Beat Classic Brawl Mode on the Normal difficulty setting or greater in less than 12 minutes
Falco • Clear the 100-Man Brawl *I say ridiculous because compared to getting them just to join you, these are more challenging/time consuming. I can do almost all of these, I just don't have the patience for some, especially when I could just do a really quick run through the SSE.

Anyone else watch the trailer and get the feel that that physics/playstyle are similar to Brawl?
I had a dream nightmare that Duck Hunt Dog was added to the roster and his moveset was similar to Crusade. I woke up in a cold sweat...

I noticed a lot of similarities but I could also tell a LOT of differences. Wow, that was probably one of the most obvious things I've ever said.

It's funny how everyone was SO hyped over the Megaman trailer that they completely forgot about this f*** near the end. My guess to the Yellow Devil's role from least likely to most likely:
1) New (unlockable) playable character. ( It's not so ridiculous, I've seen people request Ridley, why not Yellow Devil? )
2) Assist Trophy ( It would make sense but there were no items shown yet so... )
3) Boss/Mini Boss (Seems very likely given the nature of the character but it's certainly an underwhelming way to introduce it IMO )
4) Stage Hazard ( Most valid explanation seeing as it IS on Wily's Stage. Maybe instead of Mets and Metools we actually fight Robot Masters and Mini Bosses from Megaman )

It does seem similar to brawl I hope that they keep it like brawl but fast paced and like melee and all that stuff. Why do you hate crusade Ya Dad? It is not that bad. Mt assumption would be that Ya Dad hates dogs. They kinda where out long and they didn't get smaller and also in the trailer when Mario hits Bowser his shield did not go down at all if you look close enough.

Could be they hadn't implemented shrinking shields yet in time for e3. I doubt they'd just take that out.

Yellow Devil is very likely a boss, I don't see why people think it's a stage hazard. The camera was quite clearly focused on the Yellow Devil, much like a boss fight. I know Nintendo can have fun with the cameras if they so choose, but I doubt it's just a hazard.

It's called perfect shielding, man. To my knowledge, your shield shouldn't shrink at all or at any noticeable amount if you perfect shield an attack.

Maybe it was but still MegaMan used his shield in the developer direct and it did not go down though what about that?

Yeah, that's definitely out long enough to shrink at least a bit.

I wouldn't question that possibility if its appearance wasn't so bland. No cinematic, no boss introduction like in Brawl and to top it off it appears on a playable stage unlike most of the boss battles in Brawl. Chances are they're already saving Dr Wily for the Story Mode, so maybe this is like a mini boss.

That's how it always appeared in Mega Man. It's not bland, it's a throwback.

So I went and looked at the clip, and I do see the shield shrinking VERY slowly. Yea, it's almost not even noticeable, but I see it shrinking. Also, it will definitely shrink faster if someone attacks it. Nobody attacked the shield in the video, so you couldn't see it shrink faster.
