I played undertale around the time I left the internet community and loved it
I came back a year later and completely didn't understand the hate towards it. Obviously I know it's because of the fanbase, but why you would let the way someone likes something ruin your personal enjoyment is really limiting

that being said I read homestuck to the end a few months ago and I was disappointed. all it has are some decent characters and some really great videos and music, but there are only like 20 of these videos or so

if you're like "i'm not even going to TRY this thing because the people who like it are bad!" and you're just being spiteful then that's stupid but like

if you give something a try but genuinely can't get into it because of the negative associations that have been built up then i think that's understandable

fanbases can't ruin things, but they can definitely ruin people's perceptions of things

Ryan Drummond (honestly has the best portrayal of Sonic's voice but sadly the games' direction don't give him much range of emotion), Jason Griffith (EASILY my favorite in terms of range of emotion although he's in the middle for me), Roger Craig Smith (I like his voice but he sounds way too corny whenever the script makes him do a forced line. Also I can barely take him seriously in serious scenes because he's still in the same tone. He sounds fantastic in the Boom cartoon though)
