The Ultimate Shonen Jump battle begins!

Jump Ultimate Stars' successor Jump Stars Victory VS is now in production! A cast starring some of Shonen Jump's biggest names have gathered to battle for the title of Ultimate Jump Hero, and more are on their way.

Unlike Jump Ultimate Stars, J-Stars Victory VS takes place in a large, open 3D enviroment, where characters fight eachother 2-on-2. Many arena's feature destructive enviroment, not unlike the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi games. Each character has acces to a large moveset, including normal attacks,strong attacks and special attacks as well as several Ultra Moves. Furthermore, the game introduces a 'Victory Burst' mechanic, which powers up your characters for a limited amount of time and gives some of the cast acces to special traits (like Naruto's Kurama Mode). The game is over when one of the two teams manages to rack up 3 kills. Taunting also returns (I know, I'm relieved as well).

Teams are composed of 2 active characters (who are constantly running around on the battlefield) and 1 support character.

It's also worth noting that many of the returning cast have been updated to include content from the newest manga chapters; Luffy, for example, now sports his 'New World' garbs and uses Haki in his moveset, Ichigo is now constantly in Bankai and Naruto has a plethora of new moves from the recent chapters as well. Other characters like Ryotsu and Gon received pretty much a new movesets altogether.

The game will be available on Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita. As of right now an international release of the game remains unconfirmed.

The game will release on March 19, 2014 in Japan.

I doubt that would be possible. There's no plans yet for a US/Europe release yet... Only Japan. Probably might be at Anime Expo this year though.

They also said One Piece: Gigant Battle would be Japan only. But Europe got it anyway. I'm not too worried.

Yeah but currently just for Japan at the moment. It would probably get a confirmation for a Europe release date near Anime Expo.

Can't lie though, it looks so really cool. I really hope it has a in-depth character support system for assist attacks like in JSS/JUS. That way they can also fit in a lot characters without trying to make them all playable.

This sounds really cool, i wonder if its gonna have as many characters (maybe more) as Ultimate Stars. I wonder if they're gonna reuse the Koma system, or is it gonna be different.
