I know you're probably making a joke, but there really isn't a limit on how many people from the same nationality can be in a street fighter game. (Birdie is also British iirc)

Can you eleborate because I'm genuinely curious about this. The first game in the series already had 3 characters with an american nationality for example (Mike, Birdie and Ken). Not to mention that most games feature more than 2 characters with a Japanese nationality as well. I mean, I can understand that these games don't have 300 French dudes for example because you want the roster to be varied and some countries have more stuff to pull from than others, but still, most entries don't seem to have a 'nationality limit'.

It seems more like an observation than an actual rule, really.

it was an observation lol. there's no limit but thats how it was early on (i.e. not nowadays)

the first game had no more 2 reps per nation iirc
sf II only had 8 chars and also had no more than 2 reps per nation (i know that because i played the virtual console port on my wii a lot)
i THINK sf III also followed the same "rule" but i'm not sure

anyway, this is all assuming we're talking about the initial games and not the super remix turbo championship etc etc editions where they obviously added playable characters

Anyway I figure that since the launch roster is -relatively- small they might search to make it as diversive as possible, but given how this game handles character distribution I don't think they will really limit themselves, on nationalities too, further down the line.

I really want to see a Dutch fighter in Street Fighter but I don't see it happening since since there isn't really much of a martial arts form associated with the country.

I still want an Australian fighter. Necalli's pretty cool but having one from my home country would be pretty sweet.
