I don't think I could keep up with a completely General Questions section. We'd need a pretty big team to answer questions with. How about just one topic with all the answers to all the questions ever asked that gets updated by someone? Then you could search through it to find the answers you want

Or we could have the answer be PM'd to the one who made the query, thus avoiding unnecessary clutter. Of course this has potential for PM spamming but then it can be someone specific who does the asking.

Or...
we could create a topic on the MODs section, about "generic answers".

If an user PM's us about something that has already been answered, we could just quote a post made on that post.

Everytime there is no answer on that topic, we could create a generic answer for that user's question, PM him and then post that generic answer in the "generic answers" topic.

...

Complicated and twisted idea... my style of ideas.

Or, instead of being mod section'd, it could be placed in other called "FAQ" according to you, resulting in less spam PM to you guys. Every time somebody doesn't have an answer, THEN they can PM you, then you can edit the FAQ (could be locked and stickied) to your whims.

I actually already do what Nac said to answer a lot of emails and it seems fast enough. Why do we need a topic for more FAQ's if the majority of the questions are SSF related that contain FAQ's already?

And if it isn't SSF related?

Give me something else, what will it be if it's not SSF? The forums? PhpBB has built in FAQs that cover quite a bit:

faq.php

What else could there be?

They may ask about non-forum related things.

How to find the square root of 20?

Good enough? (rhetoric question, but an example...)

A lot of that sounds like it's school related, or personal life related.... If you ask me most of the questions that would be asked here fall under the category of one of the sections we have already
