Look, a tournament pitting the BEST Link and Ganondorf players in Melee, and Link will win 55:45 of 100 matches, ONLY due to the player, thus the call for the inclusion of Player Charts.

In terms of Tiers, though, a CPU match-up would even out and be better than a select vote of 300-1,000 people. Heck, I can get 1,000,000 Smashers, pros and noobs alike on Facebook to vote, and I can get more votes for Pikachu than Marth, Link than Fox, and Mewtwo than Roy. A people vote cannot rank characters, as EVERYONE is basically different. Again, CPU match-ups give better results.

And yeah, I can get Nintendo to end this thing about Tiers, and I'LL OFFICIALLY test match-ups in SSB4 and come up with a damn-straight tier list.

There needs to be a Player Ranking Chart, AND a Computer Match-up Tier List.

A CPU matchup is basically a game of chance, it doesnt matter who they're using, either of them can win. Totally random, not something you should base this kind of stuff on.

Tier lists are absolutely not gauged by... CPUs, of all things. Rather the character is completely broken down into what makes it good, what makes it bad, and how those things can be effected by other character's traits. Then after every single character has been broken down into it's fundamental elements, they're compared to other character's positives and negatives. This is called a match up. Characters with the best match ups against others tend to be higher tiered. There usually are things that humans can take advantage of that CPUs don't, for that reason they aren't considered at all when creating tier lists. It's the character's fullest potential vs the other character's fullest potential. Then it's put into a list categorizing characters from S to E. And that's an extremely watered down explanation. If you don't understand that then you have no right to even begin to think about creating a serious one.

If that's the case, the tier list should be like this in Melee:

S: Marth, Sheik, Peach, Fox
A: Ice Climbers, Falco, Ganondorf, Link, Jigglypuff
B: Samus, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Dr. Mario, Mario
C: Luigi, Captain Falcon, Mewtwo, Roy, Bowser, Mr. Game and Watch
D: Young Link, Yoshi, Pichu
F: Ness, Zelda

...Or AT LEAST something close.

S Tiers:

Marth: Good attack range, great power, amazing chain-grabbing, and combos, great recovery, good DI and great overall knockback.

Sheik: Fast attacks, good aerial knockback, great chain-grabbing, amazing combos, great stopping power, great knockback with D-Smash and U-Smash, great damage accumulation.

Peach: Great ability to use aerial attacks, making great air game, good ground game, great Smash Knockback. Held back by weight and floatiness, and below average power.

Fox: Amazing ground game, good air game, exceptional chain-grabs, and good Reflector spam, as well as good combo game. Held back by Fast-Falling, being easily juggled, and being light.


EDIT: I found a VERY accurate tier list on YouTube for BRAWL. It's 15 minutes long and gives traits of every character.

I think it's completely clear what you want more than anything here: to be remembered for something. You want people here to talk about something you've made. You wanna be remembered for spearheading the "official" tier list for Smash Bros Quatro, you wanna be remembered for your 3spooky creepypasta game. Maybe you even want something you made to have its own page on TV Tropes.

You know what? I relate. I want to make stuff of my own. A webcomic, an unrelated epic nuzlocke comic, a few video games, a porn review tumblr with more than just six followers and one note per post. But everything in its own time, man. Actually start working on something before talking about how awesome it's gonna be. Otherwise you're Duke Nukem Forever.
