Not to mention the freakishly long torso, lack of crotch and the fact that the elbows stay almost completely still in mid-air. The slash animation reminds me a bit of Zilch's character 'Arthur'.

I made a skeleton based off of Arthur, mainly because I hadn't done anything like this before. I've had the motion in mind forever, and his just matched it perfectly. All animations from this point on will be 100% custom. I'll start improving this one soon.

Rei, I do know you ALWAYS try to make your work fit somethings else, be it sprite or animations.
And you have trouble with taking sritiques, except if you tell me you got better at this.

This I can trace back to when I made the Kirby edit after I got butthurt about Shadow Kirby. I try to listen to critique, but I'm still not familiar with all the technical terms and such, so I still miss that kind of stuff.

The idle is a bit pixel shifty, and looks a little strange.
The guy right leg is a little stiff in the sword animation.

Custom future minigun dude. Added a slight movement to his leg to make it look like he's jumping and not just ascending.

You have the detail in the face right, you just don't have it proportioned correctly.
Try resizinf your reference's face down and pixeling over it. (Actually that would help for the whole sprite)
