So I finally went out and bought a bunch of Kevin Smith movies all at once. I've been a fan for quite a while now, but now have a nice looking collection of them on my movie shelf.

I've been hitting them pretty frequently this last week, watching Chasing Amy as I write this. One hell of a roller coaster this one is. Lots of great laughs, lots of bile humor, and some of the most emotional outbursts I've ever seen in any film in my life. Smith knows who and what people are more than almost any other film maker I've ever seen. That's what I consider the appeal of all these movies, the characters are always memorable, always well written, maybe not always likeable but forever relatable.

So, yeah, I freaking love View Askew, some of my favorite movies and characters are among them, Smith is easily in my top ten favorite directors, I wanted to open the discussion. I hope some of the rest of you on the forums have sampled these insane pieces of art.

i find myself quoting clerks more often than i should, specifically the parts involving the russian metal guy and "title dictates behavior".

chasing amy was a grower, though I didn't find it as memorable. definitely well written and exceeded my expectations.

other than that, not the biggest kevin smith fan.

Really now? Frankly I always found Amy to stick with me the most in a lot of ways... Okay so there weren't any angels heaven or hell in it, but good God, it has some of the greatest monologues I've ever heard in any film, executed to total perfection
