have gotten in the waiting room but freezes

I've made it to a match finally. It was with a Link, and Captain Falcon.

My super awesome overpowered internet was no match for the server lol. I lagged so hard :V

-My character animations weren't showing
-I heard doubling sound effects
-I hit someone for 6%
-When I died, I was invisible for the rest of the match
-The link was teabagging
-Captain falcon died automatically

Maybe shouldve held off the online mode a bit longer haha

If you don't move at all in the waiting room, it greatly decreases the chance of desyncs, etc.

i think that was you against me. i was recovering, and i lagged, after that. CF was in the sky.

I got online too.

Some random DK I got to fight. Started comboing me around 2nd stock, like he was lag free.


I found out that i could combo, just the same if i just pressed the buttons early. Its like you press the buttons 2 moves before your character gets to it and it works out looking natural.

I've played a couple of online matches now and all I can say is that it has improved a lot!
Now there's a few things I can't get my head around...

Firstly, you guys say that you need a good internet connection and the opponent has to be close by but the thing is, I've been able to play matches against a Canadian and a few North Americans and the connection was OK with a tad of lag to pretty good. But the strange thing is that sometimes when I fight someone in the United States, the connection was pretty laggy...

Another thing is that when I try to start a match with Yellokirbyguy (who lives in the same country AND state) we were stuck in the Waiting Room even though neither of us moved (we tested with both high and low latency). This stuck in waiting room rarely occurs for me and it seems to occur between me and a few selected people, aka the people I try to verse who get stuck in the waiting room will always have this glitch whenever we try again even if we restart SSF2 (happened to two players so far).

I am also experiencing less desyncs (encountered only one when I had a 4 player match) after the latest fix, so awesome job guys! When I fight 1 vs 1, it has the least amount of lag compared to 3 players (medium lag) and 4 players (SSF2 pretty much froze on the countdown screen).

Here are my speedtest results to (maybe? Don't know exactly) your closest city. Ping is mildly high and not something I'd want to do frame perfect stuff in, but it's playable.

I've been playing for the last few days. Some games are unbearable. However, I've played almost 50 low lag games. It is not the same as playing the computer mind you, more like 85% of that speed. It is much more fun playing against competent humans though. There are quite a bit of ichi-hos and links out there, beware.

I just tested my ping to a random net connection in the US (since I don't know your closest server) and my ping is also 200+ so basically if two people have a match and they're far away, the ping will roughly be the same.

I played a match against someone who is in the UK (and I live on the west coast of Canada), and the lag was the same as when I played someone on the East Coast of the US.
