CoM is pretty important for knowing what the f*** is going on in 2 though

meh, the journal and the cutscenes of roxas's dreams were just enough to know at least what was going on in 2

well you don't know about any of the other organization members, or why the f*** sora is in a pod or who namine is

the opening cutscene gives some idea but playing com is better than not, despite how s*** it is

and thank god these hd remakes are out

they're the best

CoM at least serves as an example of how trying something new is sometimes a bad idea

I thought CoM was meh. I don't like Days and Coded though. Those two are my least favorite games in the series.

the multiplayer part was really cool and xion was very cute

The missions got boring way too quickly for me, and the story was moving too slowly for me as well. After day 300, I just lost interest and stopped playing the game. Maybe if I tried the multiplayer I would have a better opinion of the game, but I have no interest in the game any longer.

I've tried Days, though I haven't gotten very far past the Antlion boss. I beat that boss, and can't remember much after that. I know how it ends because I've known how every Kingdom Hearts game ended for the most part (without spoiling final bosses for myself) before playing any of the games.

I know for certain that I enjoy it more than Chain of Memories and Re:CoM though. Not even the 1.5 HD remix has helped me enjoy CoM any, though it is slightly more enjoyable than the GBA version.

And I really wish that 3D was the third game in 2.5 HD Remix, or at least present in cutscene form. But that was never going to happen, since it's so recent. I want to see what the big deal is about Dreameaters, Flowmotion and Reality Shifts, though I already know how the story goes. It's just that I can't see myself buying a 2DS just for that game.

Then buy a 3DS instead, with the boatload of other great games on the system

Not worth it. I'm stereo-blind, so the 3D function is wasted on me. That's why I specified 2DS. My bad.

Well, that and the 2DS is cheaper.

Plus I can't blow that much money on one game and system, which is really all it would amount to for me. I haven't been big on handheld gaming lately besides PSP-only stuff like Crisis Core and BBS, and there aren't any other 3DS games that really appeal to me.

That which is necessary overrides that which is desired.

It would take a lot to explain why I can't part with the necessary cash right now, and can't buy games whenever I want. To make a long story short, it's a monetary issue which has resulted in me having the option of buying maybe one good new game or a few good used games (and no option to buy consoles) per year since the beginning of college.

Anyway, I won't drag this any further into the topic of the 3DS or my taste in games in general.

Having beaten Birth by Sleep: Final Mix, I'm curious about how BBS:FM is going to be changed, if at all, to incorporate the additional features of the PS3 controller. Particularly, I wonder if the Shotlock activation will be mapped to one button by default as compared to holding down some combination of L and R buttons, and, on that note, whether or not they'll re-map the camera to the right stick.

I'm also hyped to see how much better the graphics will look when upscaled. It would be cool if Aqua, Terra and Ven could get the capes they were originally meant to have, or for Xehanort's face to be as expressive and creepy looking as it was in the "Fate of the Unknown" preview.
