Still, Haruhi-sama reigns above everyone else.

Haruhi might be a god, but she can't fight badass like Yuki.

No I was not being sarcastic :P

However, in the battle between Nagato, Haruhi, and Mikuru: Nagato wins.

Mikuru is in dead last place, as the only thing she has going for her is her looks and body. Not a sliver of badass in her entire character. She's not overly smart unless she's talking about time travel, and the only thing she did against that cave cricket was cower in fear while Koizumi and Nagato did all the fighting. Though this can be forgiven as she had no way to fight, seeing as the rules of Time Travelers prevented her from carrying weapons, she still cowered behind Kyon screaming every time an attack got too close.

Haruhi I would say is in second. She's the one who makes everything happen, but the fact that she didn't know she was doing it both took away and added to the score, the latter more so. She was one of the good characters, and her utter disregard for anybody else's dignity, or her utter lack of dignity herself, sometimes adds comic moments with Mikuru, or some funnily badass and clever moments with people like the Computer Society President. Her performance with ENOZ is also a very large moment to add that adds to her score. However, there are not NEARLY enough facts for her character to put her ahead of Nagato.

Nagato is the ultimate badass. Her lack of emotions at the beginning has the potential to get annoying, but you get used to it and start to love it around the time she starts transitioning into showing small slimmers of emotion and such. She always has her long explanations and always seems to know what's going on. Her data control in the baseball episode was freaking awesome, as it put a semi-professional baseball team to shame, something she could do without even breaking a sweat. The battle with the cave cricket and her great teamwork with Koizumi showed more badassadry, though not nearly as much as her fight with Asakura, which showed her superior intellect that put her above nearly everything else on Earth at the time, and her just plain badass fighting skills. Her guitar playing skills during the performance with ENOZ are also a large part of her badass score. The final thing to add to her badass score would have to be her awesome performance during the Day Of Sagittarius match, what with her simultaneously hacking the game and playing better than anybody else in the room at the same time. All in all, Yuki Nagato = The complete definition of badassadry.

My thoughts on the whole thing.

Well actually, Kyon is the badass of the series, full stop. What's really funny though, is how Nagato keeps calling him "Anata", equivalent of saying "dear".

Counter-argument for Mikuru, Asahina-san (big) is way more powerful than you think.

Counter-argument for Haruhi, she still has her own way when stripped of power in one of the novels (Disappearance I think).

You've really gotta help me find a place I can read these light novels...

As the great Yahtzee once said:

Yahtzee wrote:
Things are popular for a reason: Because they're good.

Or because Will Smith is in it.

All hail Yahtzee Croshaw.

It's not really a plague, you must hear of it so much it makes you sick. Too much a good thing can do that to you.
