I'm impressed, very impressed.

You can find some great ideas of grass texture at Pixeljoint. If you want, I could upload some of my reference map (pixelart made by other people) and PM it to you later. I'd love to see more of this!

Small update to the Sacred Forest Meadow stage. I tried doing grass for the first time. I used the Hylian Skies stage from ssf2 as a starting point and went from there. For the trees in the sky I used a brush from the Gimp progamme, vegetation or something. There's still work to do, but it looks better I think.
Comments, feedback, especially on the grass and the lighting/shading would be appreciated!

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTRnOUaBlu8
This song would go great with the stage I think.
Also, right click and press View Image, it looks better I think.

Are you perhaps interested in joining the SSF2 Developement Team? I think you could perform very well in the stage art departement.

Hey thanks for the positive comments!
They gave me the resolve to try and finish the stage, so here is the latest update.

Things I think still need work would be the sky, and the roof of the building in the background. Plus some details here and there.
I was thinking about putting an animated Saria on the tree stump, just playing her ocarina or something. Plus some other flash effects such as fairies bopping up and down like the fire particles in Bowser's castle.
Anyway, let me know if there is something to improve or something that doesn't look right.

Thanks for the offer to apply for the dev team, but I don't think I could help because I am really inconsistent and couldn't dedicate a lot of time which I guess would be necessary. I rarely do any of this sort of thing because most of the time I'm too busy, I don't get many free days.

EDIT: I used this among other images from Ocarina of Time on the N64 as a reference, although I used footage from the 3ds version as well which someone posted on youtube.

But mark... the question is. Will you accept the invitation into the SSF2 team? You did get a dev to even ask for you to join the team.

Well, like I said, the problem is that I don't usually have a lot of time to do this. I've just been sick the last few days so I haven't been working, which has given me the time to try and finish this stage. I would guess that to be a dev you have to contribute on a regular basis.

Anyway, here is just something I threw together to give you guys an idea what I imagine the stage would look like when playing on it. The Saria sprite kinda sucks but it's place-holding for now.
Obviously I'm just hoping expansion stages will be something they can implement, otherwise this will just remain a nice idea. It's been really fun working on it either way.

EDIT: Oh and this would definitely be the perfect song for the stage! You can hear the trees/grass swaying in the wind. Also, when the ocarina starts to play Saria could be animated to be playing in the background. (careful it's a 10 hour track! don't leave it playing)
