Looks like they've got most of the items at this point. Still haven't even started on the pokeballs though.

Is that site run by one guy? Poor guy probably didn't imagine the Direct would be THIS huge.

So how about Greninja's playstyle? He looked pretty good, but the trailer showed that he had weird moves and movements like improvisational footstool jumps (which I hope have been removed) and manual counters with his Substitute technique. Anyone see anything else unique besides those?

When Greninja was fighting Yoshi, I noticed something. Greninja's D-Air (looks as if that what it was) is similar to ZSS' in Brawl, but he got some height off of it.

As for specials, Greninja's N-Spec looks like Water Shuriken, and probably works like Lucario's Aura Sphere, but it could give a set amount of damage, instead of powering up.

His D-Spec could work like Marth's counter, and S-Spec could work like Shiek's. Greninja's U-Spec might work like Pikachu's. As for his final Smash, I'm not sure what it is. I'm kinda leaning towards Night Slash though.

if greninja get's protean, we're all f***

I think Water Suriken is a projectile move that can be fired rapidly, like Fox's Blaster, but grows noticeably smaller each use in succession, meaning a sharp cut in damage. Speculation: the distance it can travel also decreases as size goes down. At least, that's what it looked like to me.

It takes a pose like it might be charging a move, however, it could also be in a pose like its about to fire off a deck of cards in rapid succession, one at a time.

We saw him charging it, so it's safe to say it's a move you charge.

If Greninja's special moves are all real pokemon moves, then his Final Smash will most likely not be a real move. Pokemon in Brawl have 4 actual pokemon moves each, with a 5th that isnt. Pokemon Trainer Pokemon were exempt due to Pokemon Change. Though who knows if there gonna keep that concept.

Pikachu's Final Smash was Volt Tackle. The lesson here is that characters will have final smashes that fit their characters, and there's no set rules; they can be existing moves or new moves made for the game.

What Rapty said. They don't have to conform to any rules regarding Pokemon moves for Final Smashes because they make the rules. I can't identify the move Greninja used for is Final, but that doesn't mean it's not a move present in his games right now.

I'm more interested in his regular attacks, though. I find it kind of a shame that he has a watery copy-paste of Pikachu's Up Special, which I can only guess will be his primary recovery move. I thought variation would be the spice. His teleporty thingy actually looked like it could save him from horizontal problems, though. That being said, his moveset makes him look really hard to kill.

Which reminds me that there are custom moves. Maybe they were conscious of that fact and just showed us a variant of his Up Special. I really don't wanna belive that's his default, but until then I'll have to take it as such.

Oh, and his jump arcs are really weird and wild. He looks like a fast faller. But we can count on him being lightweight or middle-lightweight, as far as I can see.

Pikachu still had just 4 actual pokemon moves, Thunder Jolt isnt an actual move. At least it wasnt.

Pikachu had Tackle (Dash), Tail Whip (Airs), and Headbutt (Jab) just from memory, and probably a ton of other electric/normal attacks in his other non special moves.

Same with the rest of the Pokemon.

Four moves isn't a thing in Smash.

Huh, I must have zoned out during part when he charges it, I only noticed him firing it a few times. Does he only fire one, or is it possible he fires off more the longer it's charged. I mean the whole idea of the move is it's a multi-hit move not a single big attack.

who cares what the move is meant to be in pokemon
he very clearly charges up and launches a big one, and then rapidly fires off some smaller uncharged ones after that in the same video clip.

Using something not present in the source material?!? That never happened before in Smash
Like Wii Fit Trainer Sun Salutation, or even the magnificent Falcon Punch...

nice poll

I just noticed. If you look at the changes made to characters in the video. you can see that when Sonic KO's Marth, he lights up. Might be a new indicator of getting a point.

Ugh.... I honestly don't like Greninja. I would've preferred just about any other PKMN at this point.
(Love that avi, Deciton!)
