There are a lot of really cool events in SSF2. But there are also a number of irritating, annoying ones. Let's talk about those!

8. Opposite Day - Literally a RNG on whether or not the opponents attack you - this puts everything in the still buggy computer's control.
11. Laagggggg - Who thought this was a good idea? No one likes playing against people with lag, and it makes it more of a chore to finish this event than anything.
28. Bomb Factory Malfunction - Another RNG based event based on where bombs are placed - impossible to lose but you have to be incredibly lucky to have a good score.
33. Hide 'N' Sheik - Literally takes the Zeldas forever to switch, and I was unfortunate enough to, right as she was going to die, have her switch back to Zelda and eliminate my hard work. Followed up by an extremely long wait for her to switch back.
38. Pretty in Pink - Three particularly nasty CPU opponents who can't hurt each other gang up on you and trap you in stun lock!
40. The Mother Brain - Mother Brain's laser attack is incredibly difficult to dodge, there's minimal standing room and her attack does upwards of 70% damage if it hits EVERY TIME.
43. Swords vs. Spears - AKA 3 Hyper Aggressive Bandana Dees trap you in aerial stun lock and spam up air over and over.

What events have you been getting salty at?

Bomb Factory Malfunction was the last event I got S on. Took so much luck to finally get a good score.

Looks like Bomb Factory Malfunction will be that one hard thing for speedrunners...

The Cheap Outnumbering events. I mean really, they're just plain unfair. (Pure RNG like Opposite day sucks eggs too.)

Event 40 (Mother Brain) - There's, like, no way to dodge that 81% damage laser, man.
Event 49 (Metal Clash) - Metal opponent? Check. Giant opponent? Check. Agressive CPU? Check. 3 of them? Check.

The lag event is easy tbh, especially when unlinke online there is no input delay

^But it's not fun.
Possibly one of the salty ones I've been getting it's probs the revamped Nightmare in Dream Land, given how you can no longer choose your own character are now obligated to use Bandana Dee.. which isn't exactly the most versatile fighter given how sluggish many of his attacks are.
Plus it was fun to test the event with multiple chars.

The LAG Event oppinion offended me…
And if you don't like LAG is Your problem
I fixed it from my PC and doesn't matter if my opponent have LAG

A tip for event 40: Sure, laser deals a lot of damage, but it's only active for 10 frames. That's shorter than Samus' airdodge, roll or ledge getup animation, and the laser is telegraphed by an effect on Mother Brain's eye and a sound effect. So you can anticipate it and dodge with good timing for no damage.

My least favorite event is definitely the one where you have to defend the Mr. Saturns.

event 21 where you have to beta 99 s but the keep attacking sometimes including making me lose one life with the key attack and i hate it because when i sometimes hit the small s it make a miss

The best way to deal with this is to spam Up Tilt in the center. Got me an S-Rank.

Opposite day is one. Also, I really hate events that have CPU's gang up on you and others that rely heavily on RNG.

6: Saving the Saturns
First. we have to save the saturns AND LUFFY HAS LIKE 2 STOCKS!!! it's hard. luckily the CPU's just wanna attack you(probabily), not throw the Saturns away
8: Opposite Day
It took me a lot of tries...
21: Battle of the 99 Heartless?
It literally took me loads of time to defeat all of them. thank good i have 2 stocks because i died at the last Mr. Game & Watch.
29: The Power of Random
It's literally WAY to random. even TAS probabily couldn't defeat it first try lmao. especially not perfect 0%.
38: Pretty in Pink
1v3'ed...good thing we have 2 stocks and they have 1.
43: Swords vs Spears
Another 1v3.
44: Climate Changes
so i am 1v3'd AND they have 2 stocks.

Looking back, none of these events are as bad to me as V0.9b's Nintendo All-Stars. Metal Clash came close, but there's Tails' Side-B to toss em off the stage.
