Easy: allow anyone to create a topic.

In order to do so, they should post the quotes of the people which approbed the topic (from 3 people to 5).

In case they don't, then normal users can use the report botton, and a mod will eventually close the topic and ban/warn the user.

...

Just to make it sure that no-one would try to post without using that topic... I would suggest to make the punish something "big"
(ban for a day first time, ban for 3 days second time, ban for a week third time, ban for a month fourth time, "perma-ban you a******!" fifith time)

With having that type of punishment, no one is going to make topics there anymore :hmph:

Are we seriously going to start warning/banning people for posting ideas in the Forum Games section? Even though the games aren't good, they're still games. I mean, seriously - like DT said in the stickied post, it's just like spam.

Do we go around banning people for posting bad topics in the spam section? Nooo, so why should we for the Forum Games section?

Seriously.

Guys, I think you're misunderstanding.

How it works in the BitF Forums is; The person who wants to create a game suggests it in the Topic Approval Thread. If they get x number of approvals, they can make it. If they make it before then, then the topic is just locked until it has three approvals. If it's locked, the creator can suggest it in the approval thread, and if it gets x number of approvals, it's unlocked. No bans or warnings, just a locked topic.

We don't want people spamming the Forum Games board with things we'll never play, right?

can some one with authority it an announcement? and not lock it?

I would do it, but I have little to no power. so people wouldn't pay much attention, should the games topic have a mod, some one who gets on every day like me, but a mod?

no administrators trust me enough for that.

Some of you guys got me wrong...

You would get warned and/or banned in case you don't ask for opinions (approvals) before creating a topic.

Posting on the "propouse a game topic" thread would give you no punishment.

If you wait until you have the approvals, there is no problem at all in creating a topic (in fact, it would be stupid if you didn't).

Also, this should be a sticky, not an announcement... because the abridge user should be able to post inside the "propouse a game" topic...

(you could always create 2 topics... one to explain the rules, and other one for the "propouse a game" thingy)

I think it should be an announcement, and we'll probably need another one of these "Read this before posting deals" going on, as well as a banner thing like we've got in the Ideas section... :ko:

He meant in terms of both sections being havens for post whoring (hence forum games having its post counter removed). Besides, spam is meant for garbage posts, everywhere else should at least have somewhat competent topics. If someone posts a ridiculous game, particularly games of so much sheer stupidity they're flame bait worthy, or re-posts of games already active. They should be taken down.

Examples:

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12618

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12621

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=10103&start=0

Not only that, but this "quality assurance" idea of having people vote on a game also ensures that a game posted will likely have a longer longevity than some other games that failed after just a few pages.

Examples:

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=11822&start=0

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=11824

I, personally, am completely against this idea, but that's just me.

If we do, who will keep track of each game? If, say, 100 users decide to create games, and so post in that Approval Topic, no global mod will have the time to just make a list of all the games that were approved. You wouldn't be able to prove that you approved/disapproved a game, because it would be on some page, and you may have to scroll through 50+ pages of approvals and disapprovals. It would just be too much work.

Give the power to the users and let us decide whenever we feel a game is bad - if it really is bad, will anyone actually play it? The creator would just lock it and move on.
At most, just add another rule.
