The Board of Education in Harrold Independent School District, a small school district in Texas, unanimously approved a plan to allow teachers to carry firearms into the classroom. There have been no parent objections. The district comprises of about 110 students. Teacher's may now obtain training and permission from the school to carry a licensed concealed weapon. According to school officials it makes sense. It would take local responders about 30 minutes to reach the school in case of any emergency. According to the superintendent, "We have a lock-down situation, we have cameras, but the question we had to answer is, 'What if somebody gets in? What are we going to do?" he said. "It's just common sense."
Guns were once banned in schools nationwide by Congress until a recent Supreme Court ruling took the law down.

Personally, I think this is a very foolish idea. It may work for a small school like them, but what about in larger communities? A group of students could easily overwhelm a teacher and take his gun. Then what? I would propose non-lethal solutions such as pepper spray or tasers. If this issue was raised at your school, what would be your stance?

Anyway, if it was in my school, I'd probably just like escape from the school for the lulz. Lawl.

Recently, there has been a lot of gun violence due to children getting guns from home, or a gang supplier, bringing them to school and getting into a confrontation, which usually ends with a death. If teachers had guns some of these incidents could be stopped before anyone can get hurt.

I myself wouldn't want to go to a school that had guns in it, but perhaps teachers could carry guns in schools already noted for having gun violence on more than one occasion. Pepper spray and tasers are good but an intruder would think twice before doing anything if a gun was pointed at him or her.

Who says all teachers are virtuous ? Seriously, id fear a kid gets on a teachers nervs one day, guy has a history of anger problems, completely flips out.
