Yeah it's a good movie but it's such a played out "alternative" answer come on: The only reason people pick "Die Hard" is because they're tired of the same cliche Christmas movies being played every year. Yeah yeah, snow and santa and the meaning of christmas. Who cares. We set aside about two months a year to play the same songs and films constantly and they grate on people. I don't even enjoy Die Hard that much, but I tell people it's my favorite because it represents a bit of a "f*** you" to the status quo. Because, if we're being honest, I don't think I like any of the Christmas movie canon. I can quote nearly every beat in Elf but I don't think I enjoy it, it's just there. It exists. And that's about as much as I can say for any of those movies. The exception to this is The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is a fantastic movie, but I don't really consider it a Christmas Movie specifically.
