He's right though, you don't really gain anything from fighting. If a fight is avoidable, (most of them are) I avoid it.

I guess if you want to complete the sticker museum you have incentive to fight enemies that drop weapon stickers that you can't get any other way.

But then where is the fun if you just avoid everything?

I do like the game, a lot. It's fun to explore each new level, and figuring out what to do next, and feeling accomplished when you figure it out. (I get stuck like every level).
I also like the fact that you can return to levels you've completed and discover new things. Once you get the door sticker you can go back to pretty much every stage for new 'things'.

And the fighting is fun I guess, but like why would I fight every enemy if I don't get anything from it? It's just a waste of time.

I never said he was wrong

I'm just pointing out that battling should be the main part of an RPG (aside from maybe the story I guess??) and that if the battling is pointless, it's a terrible RPG

Except that Paper Mario isnt just an RPG and therefore battles dont have to make up a major part of it(even though it kinda does in the past games).

I mean yeah you dont have to fight any enemies, and it's pretty dumb to fight everything, but yeah. I like to engage some of the enemies.

I never said it wasnt an RPG :hmph:
I said its not only an RPG, as in it mixes in plenty of platforming elements as well.

Not really, unless you're talking about Super

There's some jumping you have to do to get things sometimes but that's about it

Well you still have to admit, its pretty far from a standard rpg archetype. I would say its more of a platformer with rpg elements, instead of the other way around. But we all have our opinions.

Sticker Star is weird, it's like a mix of the new super mario games (because of the world map) and Paper Mario.

I'll never understand why Nintendo chose not to have a level up system. The game feels incomplete.

Just out of curiosity Kyuubit, do you ever intend to try Sticker Star? Even if you think its stupid, you should at least play it a little before you bash it, it is more credible that way :P

Probably not

What I've heard about it doesn't make me want to play it and I'd much rather spend my money on things I'd actually want to play

Honestly I'd say don't bother, the game was really mediocre IMO. Losts of game design flaws, and was ridiculously easy except for boss fights which were cheap because of the stupid puzzle elements they all had. If you didn't have the right thing sticker before fighting the boss, you were f*** until it told you what you needed. General puzzles were bland, either paperize or use thing stickers, and of you don't have the right thing sticker prepare to go all the way back to Decalburg to get it. I felt like the game was just wasting my f*** time for no reason.

I seem yo remember after losing an absurd amount of times on some boss it told me what was needed, but yeah it never gives you any indication for normal puzzles.
