Finally the movie doesn't launch at this year, but how will be his new redesign, gods i just don't wanna think about that.

after watching the cats trailer i had a desire to watch the sonic movie

THEY DID IT!!! THE ABSOLUTE MADLADS DID IT!!! THEY LISTENED TO US SONIC FANS AND FIXED MOVIE SONIC TO BE ACTUALLY SONIC!!!!!!

WHAT A DAY TO BE ALIVE MAN!! WE LIVE IN THE BEST TIMELINE!!! I EVEN SHED TEARS OF JOY!!!

Ofc they did it, I'm glad that our complaints finally have heard, .

Now I have an excuse to be chilling alone at February 14th.

Not just Sonic's design either. The jokes, tones, visuals, music, sound, EVERYTHING feels like it's been cranked from -4 to +11. For the jokes, we went from "there's a child in my bag but it's not mine" to "you've got car insurance, right?" (not quite a good example just off the top of my head). For the serious moments we went from "Basically I'm gonna have to save your planet" to "This is MY power, and I'm using it to Protect. My. Friends!". Visuals/cinematography wise too, the whole opening sequence was just fun to watch and then there's the way Sonic gives a glowy eyed glare at Robotnik in that Eggmobile thing!

Jim Carrey is still absolutely nailing Robotnik, this time given much better serious writing (Why would you throw your life away for this silly little alien?), hammy writing (GIVE ME A BIG! FAT! BREAK!!), quips (That was an illegal left by the way) and even non-verbal in-character Eggman moments like randomly rocking out in the middle of his insidious schemes.

Overall, the movie seems to have gone from The Room memetically bad to Detective Pikachu shockingly good in a heartbeat! Almost like the horrendous 1st trailer was a marketing tactic to gain attention before hitting the disgruntled fans with a whiplash of a pleasant surprise! Definitely seeing this!

P.S: It made me unironically laugh at a yo mama joke

Some lighting are still a bit off, but seeing Green Hill Zone and a remix of its theme in the trailer was awesome, even if it looks like it's going to be cut short.

Old Sonic looked so stiff, what the hell.

I'm like 60% convinced Old Movie Sonic was just a scheme to get a lot of attention. Nowadays, good stuff gets mostly overshadowed by Marvel and Disney, so they went the other way by creating something so notoriously bad that it overshadows the good things, and after getting our attention, giving us an amazing improvement, filling our hearts with joy and showing us that they're willing to listen to fans instead of thinking they know better . Good tactic!

SONIC FINALLY DOESN'T LOOK LIKE S[BEEP]!

Has anyone seen the movie yet?

Not showing in my country yet so no.

But I did see that the movie has a 64% critic rating (2nd only to Detective Pikachu) and a whopping NINETY FIVE PERCENT AUDIENCE RATING (sure like half of those are probably just Sonic fans instead of GA but still). Tells me we're in for a good time, just as I'd been hoping for since the second trailer.

Here's hoping the superb marketing and the goodwill of fans who have been listened to is enough to carry this movie to success, which will hopefully encourage others to admit their mistakes and listen to the fans too instead of being prudes like they usually are.
