Here we go again... Time for the next HYPED! Teams Tournament! Go sign up here: http://challonge.com/SSF2_HYPE_Team_Tournament3SSF2 HYPE! Team Tournament 1: http://challonge.com/kgvuq3g3SSF2 HYPE! Team Tournament 2: http://challonge.com/SSF2_HYPE_Team_Tournament2The HYPE! All-Stars System:Each team that participates in at least one HYPE! event gets into the scoreboard below. The higher you rank, the more points you get! (Obviously.) Score is adjusted to the amount of teams participating. That means if you win a 6 team tournament you´ll get 5 points, but if you win a 16 Teams big HYPE! Tourney, you will earn 15 points! Players collect points only for their team. This requires that teams actually have both members listed, and if you enter as the same team in several events, please choose the same orders. I don´t wanna see Team A|B for one day and the next tourney it is Team B|A. This score tracking is hard enough, no need to compicate it further! Additionally, starting with HYPE! 3 (THIS ONE), the two best teams will duke it out in an epic 2vs2, Bo1 to see who is the best team out there! Winning an All-Stars Battle gives the team +1 point for the scoreboard. If one team doesn´t attend, the other wins via forfeit. If one player doesn´t attend for the tourney, you can go either 1vs2 or quit out. For the rare case that one player is in the best two teams, the other two team mates will duel in an 1v1 Bo1 Battle. SSF2 HYPE ALL-STARS: show 1.) DoqtorKirby|Chaunch - 6 pts. 2.) Kyoz|Miracle--7 - 5 pts. 3.) NStinct|Lite - 4 pts. 4.) Block|Huey - 4 pts. 5.) Skailler|TheCodeSamurai - 3 pts. 6.) Boomanter|TheSol - 3 pts. 7.) Marvin|DarkVillager - 1 pt. 8.) Boomanter|Operatic - 0 pts. 9.) NStinct|Eldog - 0 pts. Upcoming HYPE! All-Stars Battle at HYPE! 3
DoqtorKirby|Chaunch vs. Kyoz|Miracle--7Tournament starts on Sunday, March 29th at 10:30 PM CEST, check in opens 30 minutes earlier. And get a time calculator if you need one. IMPORTANT NOTE AHEAD: Save the replay of your matches and put them as attachments at the results screen. This helps me if it lags too much and others who can see awesome matches! IMPORTANT NOTE AHEAD: Dont complain about the bracket until I SAY that it is final. Once I announce the final bracket, reload the site to see if your matches changed. This tourney will be done as a team tourney. To register, you have to enter your name and your partner´s name in a fashion like this: Skailler/Partner. Only one team member has to register. You can have one substitution partner if your partner can´t go on/can´t attend at all. If your substitution partner can´t play as well, you can decide wheter or not you want to continue 2v1 or quit. Keep in mind that you can´t enter alone, this is a TEAM TOURNAMENT. In addition to check in, teams have to appear in the SSF2 IRC channel: http://client00.chat.mibbit.com/?channe ... .rizon.net Any teams not in the IRC will be kicked. Keep in mind that you still have to check in on this site! RULESET: - 3 stocks, 7 minutes; matches that are played under different circumstances WON´T BE COUNTED! - Team damage is ON - Seeding is determined by how well you did in the previous HYPE! events. Winning an HYPE! All-Star Battle gives you 2 points for the All-Stars scoreboard, meaning you can get higher seeds! - Each round has a set time limit of 40 minutes each (50 for Bo5). If some matches arent decided yet, the team with the higher score so far. If no match has been played in that set, the team with the higher score difference (4 wins/2 losses=2points for that) wins. If this is equal as well, the team with the higher seed number is declared the winner (Seeding No. 2 beats Seeding No. 5 in this case). - Starter Stages: Final Destination/Nintendo 3DS ( both stages can be stricken at once), Battlefield, Smashville, Pokémon Stadium 3, Dreamland - Counterpicks: Tower of Salvation (cannot be played on if FD/3DS is stricken), Yoshi´s Story, Castle Siege (Hazards off/on), Sky Sanctuary Zone, Dracula´s Castle, Jungle Hijinx, Wario Ware. - Stage striking: Teams use the 1-2-2-1 stage striking system to decide which stage to play on. After the first match, the winning team strikes 3 stages from the list above, and the other team can choose which stage to play on. You cannot choose the stage you last won on (Dave´s Stupid Rule). - After each match, the winning team has to declare wether or not one of them/both players switch characters. After that, the losing team can switch if they want, but have to state that as well. - If the game lags too much, the game ends with a tie. If the problem keeps occuring, console me and I will have to personally determine the winning team based off the replays off the previous matches. - No whining about team colour. You agree on your colours yourself. If someone is partially colourblind or stuff like that, I highly recommend one team to pick blue to avoid any Johns and/or use tags. - Regular matches are Bo3, Winners/Losers/Grand Finals are Bo5. - Items are off of course. Same goes for hazards, with the possible exception of Castle Siege. - No excessive stalling. You can play safe/defensive if you are 1vs2 behind, but dont just go camp under the stage for all eternity. - If one player uses the moves that kills both him and one opponent, the player who used the move claims the stock/ the win if both were on their last stock. Each player is allowed to go under the stage once per stock. Doing it twice on the same stock results in a stock loss for both players. - Stock sharing allowed. - Gentleman´s Clause is in affect. All of the rules can be altered/ignored if all four players agree to it. - Most important of all: Have fun! I dont want people to rage about things, unless they get Wombo Combo´ed or stuff like that. If you still have any question, you can ask either me or TheCodeSamurai. Have fun and good luck!

Are you going to consider adding a time limit to each round?

Thanks for the reminder tho. May I ask what appened to HYPE! 2 after I hed to leave? The bracket was unfinished and I wasnt able to put the final results in^^ Im thinking about making an "All-Star Ranking" that gives an overview of each teams average placement... So if you got 6th in HYPE! 1 and got 2nd in HYPE! 2, your score would be 4. The lower the number, the higher you get ranked. And the higher your rank, the higher you get seeded! Just an idea... Or should I stick to the more general way of giving points for each placement depending on the participating teams? If you win a Tourney with 9 teams applying, you get 8 points, but if you win one with just 4, you only get 3. The points then would add up to each teams rank again and then determine your place in the seeding. If teams are tied for one place, the team with the higher amount of wins takes the place. If this nmber is equal, the team with the lower amount of losses is placed higher. If this is equal as well, seeding will decide. EDIT:To prevent confusion if one player is in two or more teams in different HYPE! events, not the team itself will get rated. Instead, the both players collect the points for themselves, and that score will be summed up to determine the total amount of score/rank/seeding. And I decided that Im sticking with the second way to determine scores as well. If you read this, Im preparing the All-Stars already! After each tourney, the two best All-Star teams that attend will duke it out in an 2vs2 (SURPRISE!) to determine the best All-Stars Team. Winning team gets bragging rights till the next tourney and get an automatic +1 for the scoreboard. for the next HYPE! installment. If one team doesnt show up, they lose via forfeit. If one player doesnt show up, the regular HYPE! rules are the way to go (2vs1 or forfeit). For the rare case that one player should be in both top teams, It will be a regualr 1vs1 between the other two team mates repsectively. This also means that teams that stick together should not change their position in team name (What I mean is I dont want to see Kyoz|M7 at one tourney and then M7|Kyoz at the other), just makes it easier for me. Team names are allowed, but please put the team members in brackets afterwards! This makes tracking each single player down at least a bit more comfortable. If anyone wants to help me out with this, just ask! So, what do you guys think of those changes? Im trying to appeal more players into this, as Im not really into getting all teams into the tourney 15 before it starts (aka HYPE! 1) or dont attend at all because they dont have interest cuz its nothing special. Feedback and/or ideas are generally allowed!

Sorry for the double post (Geez, how many am I doing recently? Definetly way too much), but I added A LOT of stuff to the series and Im afraid people wont notice if I just put it in an edit On another note, I just noticed that this HYPE! installment takes place right after SIX. Should I delay the date for one day or keep it where it is? Putting up a poll for this. Man, being a Tourney organizer is hard

I don't mind double post with new/significant information. It'd probably be best if it were pushed back a day since people typically get burned out after an event. Although some people don't mind a second chance, I think the majority might not desire or have the time for another tournament.
Most tournaments assume rounds to be 30 minutes and if one competitor isn't there within 15 or 20 minutes then they surrender that round (Imagine if 25 minutes passed and the missing opponent finally appeared? Everyone would have to wait for a fresh best of 3 to end which could be an additional 15 minutes.) It's not always strict and typically gets more lenient in higher stages of the tournament, but I think that's generally a good rule to have. I can understand 40 minutes a round seeing as people have to chose colors, agree on a stage, and lag increases when connecting to 4 people.
Lastly I think we should tell people to make sure Quality is set to Low and to select Hardware Speed. Setting the program to High priority would help as well. These would guarantee the quickest and smoothest matches possible.

Ok, I delayed ot by one day. The point with the lag minimizer is good, but I think most people entering the tourney are already aware of that. And the reason why I dont have any time limit for teams to show up is that they get kicked immeadiatly if they arent in the IRC didnt check in. So, either they are ready right away, or they dont play at all.

Yet another Double Post... Is there a ranking for the most double posts? Cuz Im thinking this is an actual ranking I could be placed at the top...
I completely have redone the All-Stars scoreboard, hence the UPATE part in the thread name. If you are so kind to read the first post again (or just read on here), you will notice a few changes. Fist of all, Teams no longer get scored seperated. I have done this to make the scoreboard a bit simpler and to stop people form being in different teams to see their name in the Top 3 for all three ranks. The longer you two stick together, the higher the reward! Due to this, the All-Stars Scoreboard hs been updated and some teams had some drastic changes concerning their position, so please make sure to take a look! If you have any ideas for the All-Stars system, just write it down here.

Sorry for the triple post, but I forgot one important thing... EU has summer time from today, that means the tourney starts at a different time! Please make sure to double check if you still can play.

QUADRUPLE POST! First of all, I want to apologize to all the teams. Tons of things went wrong... Challonge was screwed up more than Screw Attack because it couldnt handle the time shift, thus delaying it by effectively one hour, we only had 3 teams, none of them in the formation they originally had... Heck, i just hope it works better next time. I guess i now know how to avoid that stuff and show you the results: SSF2 HYPE! Teams Tournament 3 RESULTS: 1st place: Skailler|Boomanter (+2 pts.) 2nd place: GreeNinja|DarkVillager (+1 pt.) 3rd place: DoqtorKirby (0pts.) The HYPE! All-Stars Battle was also cancelled bacuase either team did not show up. Geez. SO, lets see how this affects the scoreboard: 1.) DoqtorKirby|Chaunch (TEAM BAW) - 6 pts. 2.) Kyoz|Miracle--7 (The Eclipse) - 5 pts. 3.) NStinct|Lite - 4 pts. 4.) Block|Huey - 4 pts. 5.) Mr. Z|Shine! - 3 pts. 6.) Skailler|TheCodeSamurai (Team BR) - 3 pts. 7.) Boomanter|TheSol - 3 pts. 8.) GreeNinja|DarkVillager - 1 pt. 9.) Marvin|DarkVillager - 1 pt. 10.) NStinct|Eldog & Doqtor Kirby|TheRealHeroofWinds - 0 pts. I just hope that HYPE! 4 will be better in all aspects. Good games to all who participated, and see you next time!

It was just impossible to get more than 2 points. What did you expect? Oh btw, the All-Stars Battle vs. Kyoz and M7... Are you guys doing that at HYPE! 4 now?
