I'll admit, while I am really enjoying it, it probably wasn't worth 60 bucks. Yeah it has a few flaws to it, but it does have a story mode which does tell character's backgrounds and shows you how they end up pretty well.

I'd have like Chronicle of the Sword back, but I'm probably the only one...

This is why I want another copy of Soul Calibur 2.

Chronicles of the Sword was in 3

Bull crap. This is probably the most balanced SC game yet. All characters are useful to a similar level and the movesets of the characters are very unique. Its gameplay, (the thing that actually matters) is also amazing. Feels fresh as the days of SCII, but refined to be smoother. Lets not forget this game has like the best online that has ever been made for fighting game.

Why do people forget that fighting games are about gameplay, multi-player content, online?

First off, a great online mode doesn't make the game so great at all.. And considering i play locally most of the time, ill knock that off as it doesn't interest me in all

Second, Balanced SC game yet? Unique roster? That can be debated:
-You got 3 edge master clones: Kilik, Elysium, and the Edge Master himself. Kilik only uses male weapons while Elysium only uses female weapons. Thats not unique sir
-These characters are younger versions of old characters that just have been modified in some way to try to tell it apart from the old versions but Lexia surely matches the playstyle of Xianghua.
-If you actually unlocked the entire roster, Omega Phyrra is an overpowered version of Phyrra, Alpha Patrolklos just plain sucks in overall, and Algol is too beast. Plus Nightmare has an insanely cheap critical edge.

Its not the most balanced SC game ever. Soul Calibur 2 is more balanced in general

Have you even played the game? Female and Male Edge Masters are something that's never been done before, and considering the roster is f***' huge, that is completely okay.

The spiritual successors do a fantastic job replacing the old chatacters. They feel fresh. It won't be hard to pick them up if you played as one of the older characters in a past game, but they all have new twists about them.

I'm sorry, but alpha patrokolos doesn't 'suck'. It's a whole new take on his character, made even more relevant because of story mode. Omega phyrra isn't just an overpowered version of the former character at all. All of her stats were tweaked, and she feels almost completely different.

The story mode is good as well.

The game is balanced damn well, and it kills me to see these SCII fanboys not wanting to let go of the past. The graphics are fantastic, the charater creation is in depth, and wonderful, there is a full and widely varied roster, and every character is balanced.

How about you actually play the game before b**** about it.

It's funny because casuals don't know how to actually play fighting games so they say things are imbalanced.

Well, SC2 and SC3 are the only Soul Calibur games I've ever played, and SC3 is... well... yeah. I wouldn't consider myself a hipster due to my preference as the only other game I played was bad.

Really? I remember it being in 2. That and I've never even touched 3, so...

You're thinking of Weapon Master or something. I liked that mode.

Well don't. The reviews are terribly misleading.

...You mean you prefer SCII over SCIII. And SCIII wasn't even a bad game. It may have been lacking by comparison, but it was by no means a bad game.

You all really should lower your standards a bit. You'll be happier most of the time.

The story was added last second, and the pictures they put in are not exactly quality grade A pictures... Generic story, generic dialogue, creepy brother sister almost insist, but they have Ezio! Actually the only thing they did good was combat. Although it is not for the defensive players, it punishes you to take it slow, you must fight fight fight. All the damn time.

He didn't mean that. He meant the combat was good. Unless you're saying it's impossible to have a fighting game without a bad engine.

You've got to be kidding me.

First of all, who buys a fighting game for the story? Maybe other than blazblue. The story wa fine. It introduces all of the newer characters to you so you don't feel lost, and the buildup to the end fight was great. The brother sister character development was wonderful. And if by 'pictures' you mean the artwork, then you're undermining what was probably hundreds and hundreds of hours of work. Each piece retains the quality of the last, an they were nice to look at. Not to mention the cutscenes.

Of course the combat is the focal point. And no, you're wrong again. They gave defensive players a huge buff this game, with having chances to break combos and whatnot. They even added defensive style characters, like Viola.

Jesus.

Well, I don't -buy- fighting games for story, but they're still a great part of the game and I honestly dislike it when there is a bad story. It's understandable where you're going, but the point is that even fighting games need story is rather true. It allows you to know the characters.
