I could see the Ice Flower happening, replacing the N-special like Thundaga said. It's about time the Ice Flower gets represented in Smash Bros.

You know, I'm kind of surprised they don't have an item that temporarily reduces damage. Hammer is to golden hammer as x is to star.

They used to have the Cloaking Device which actually gave immunity to damage for a while, on top of the invisibility. But they removed it, i hope it returns, or the damage immunity comes back in another form (other than Starman of course).

Speaking of Items giving immunities to elements, Metal Box should make you immune to Poison.
Also, Darkness and Poison need to be represented more, because both only have 1 character to them.
Just on another topic, Mario's Cape should let you glide when used in Mid-air.

Technically Darkness and Poison use the same graphics, plus Giga Bowser has darkness attacks too

I personally think status effects would be fun and would be caused by items so it's more balanced out. Paralysis by an item such as those little.. ball things from Super Mario 64.

Seeing Nintendo's recent nostalgiagasm over the Tanooki Suit, can we expect to see a leaf item in the new game? A projectile-reflecting tail replacing the A attack, and the ability to float?
