That's because of the restrictions in the engine, we can't do anything about that as of now I'm afraid. We're still looking into ways to optimise the alternative costumes.

Check the OP, it should explain what this thread is for.

Could you explain what exactly are the restrictions preventing alternate costumes? Don't be afraid to get technical I'm a Comp Sci student :P

Flash has no non-resource-intensive way to recolor pixels in realtime to specific colors basically. We can only augment the color of the pixels that already exist.

Hmm, so assuming that you guys have sprite sheets of your characters I guess you would have to make new sprites that were recoloured, and letting he game know which one to pick. I feel like that would slow the game down and would, no doubt, massively increase the game's size.

That is not even an option, we would have to do it through code. The game would be like 1.5GB if we manually recolored the sheets

So in Flash, you only have Hue/Saturation/Lightness control over the master colors? Is there some kind of preset to Reds, Blues, Cyans, Magnetas, etc., to adjust the hues for each individually (like in Photoshop)?

SSF2 Trivia;

In the Bomberman games, defeat often means being blown up. We had expirimented with incorporating such a scene into his lose animation, but constantly found that it was too distracting. After that, we originally had intended to just give him a normal lose, untill we got the idea to make him look all roughed up, as if post-explosion. We were very happy with the results, as we thought it added a lot of personality.

Bomberman's lose animation always looked weird to me. The colors didn't really match as well as they could've. So I decided to fix it up.

Damn that looks nice! I would love that change

I have one problem with Pokemon Stadium 3. Even though it's gorgeous looking!, I feel the black lines in the background collide way to much with the characters making it look cluttered, since it feels too upclose (I'm refering to the very center of the stage). Compare it to many other stages (Naruto's one is a good example) and see how those have really 'smooth' outlines around background elements.

Link's sprite looks a bit dark, maybe brighten the pixels near the outline up a bit? And Link's head also looks like he's slightly hunched.

I think I made the point of the thread unclear. I'll make a post about it later.

Didnt know where to put this, but this seems about right.
Calling for a restructure of Hueco Mundo. I really hate the random 'hill' it makes combat difficult with some characters, and I think its just unappealing, if this had already been addressed somewhere else, I apologize, didnt really look.

Kirby's hat placement. It feels like it's just happen to be there...

Is this a limitation to Flash? I think the hat could've been fitted on better.
