I've never upgraded my PC really, but my brother has only done it like 3 times; he has a great gaming cpu even though it is like 10 years old.

I was thinking the same. Moved. That and I built my own 60k Baht gaming rig. Roughly 1500-2000 USD.

Besides, I'm not much of a hardware person. I may demand exacting requirements of hardware, particularly mouse and keyboard, but I generally enjoy programming more.

I earn $7 a week, doing chores. And, being too young to get a job... $364 a year, meaning 10 years to save. o_o

Naw, three years for a decent computer. A decent one can cost as little as 600 USD but I'd rather be on the safe side and prepare for the future as well.

Mines decent...It just can't run very many processor-hungry games. : (

Well I just went on Newegg and put together something similar to the Alienware laptop specs. It seems to a pretty good deal just to get the laptop.
You can also go the build your own computer route. I built one last month for around $800. It runs modern games just fine. Right now, I'm playing on it: Modern Warfare 2 Crysis Left 4 Dead 2 It should be fine for a year or two. After that I can just upgrade the processor or graphics card in order to keep up. Replacing the processor is about $100-$200 or so, depending on what you plan to get. Better than getting a new $1500 computer though.
