Anyways, the stream went well, and apparently there were no noticeable changes from the original release to the Virtual Console. I guess that kills our hope for getting the game.

In Europe, too.

Bumping this thread a little because no-one's yet posted about the fact that they've opened an Earthbound/Mother announcement community on Miiverse (insert joke about how no-one knew because no-one owns a wii u nintendo is doomed etc)
Right now the only announcement in there is just a generic welcome to community are we all enjoying earthbound kind of thing, but I doubt it exists just for that, Nintendo clearly has some sort of future announcements planned for the series. Personally I'm hoping for a Mother 3 localization. |

I'm less hopeful for a Mother 3 localization as a stand-alone thing, and more hopeful for a compilation of all three Mother games in a similar vein as Mother 1+2. Probably for the 3DS or something. Now, that's all I'm getting my hopes up for right now, though I think that if such a thing were to be released on 3DS, they might try to upscale it to 3D or something, which could go better than I expect, or could be downright terrible and nostalgia ruining if it turns out bad, not unlike the crappy audio in Mother 1+2. (The NES version of Mother had higher quality sound than the remake for the GBA, which didn't bode well for the audio in the Mother 2 portion of the same port.) But either way, hopefully Mother 3 finds its way to other parts of the world by a means that doesn't involve Emulators, translation patches, do-it-yourself flash carts, etc. because, personally, I find that Mother 3 has the story that people need most of all in this day and age. _________________ |
