Ya, so I've finally decreased my procrastination and gotten the confidence enough to start solidifying my sea of ideas for a Mario and Sonic crossover into fanfiction, having finished a chapter (it's freakishly long though, over 8k words. Need to cut it down a bit)

But now I can't seem to make the 2nd chapter because I need an idea for something. So basically the crossover sorta begins with two MacGuffin powered doomsday devices built by the bad guys malfunctioning on both worlds, causing a space-time portal rift thing that succs the MacGuffins and spits them out unevenly in both worlds.

I already made Bowser's doom device, the Storm Drive that's supposed to conquer the world by raining on it or something. It malfunctioned and caused a weird storm that tore a hole in the sky by firing a lightning beam from the exploding core. Now I just need a similar world conquering device for Eggman that goes haywire and opens the other side of the portal (preferably exploding and doing the beam of light into the sky cliche). Anyone got ideas? Or you could just post whatever you want, this is a lounge thread.

Hmmm, I suppose I could do the black hole thing, but it needs to be a bit more related to conquering than destruction...perhaps I'll turn it into an "automatic roboticization portal" that succs things and turns them into robots, but after malfunctioning violently reverses the process (trapped things exploding out of robots) and turns into a dimensional portal for the MacGuffins before dissipating.

looking at it with the standard of my immortal, eh it's okay i guess, i have seen better, but for some reason i keep on cringing everytime any names were mentioned, that mostly just on me but i keep having this weird reaction everytime i keep seeing an established character name gets mentioned in a fanfic.

Yep, the IDW comics' Metal Virus. That however is done in more of a zombie apocalypse scenario, really dark and depressing with tons of main characters being roboticized too. My version is going to be more of an instant army maker than an autonomous, near-incurable virus and the heroes are too fast/strong/plot-armored to get succed in, so they're free to stop it.

Then again, I'm not sure if the roboticization portal is what I'm going with either. There's this other idea I have about a vehicle that can assimilate other machines and appliances into weapons and armor and the likes, like assimilating a stove into a flamethrower. This thing could grow huge enough to contain enough power to cause the skyportal too after the weakpoint is conveniently blown up.

I started a fanfic after Azurixx, one of my biggest inspirations who wrote one of the best Mario and Sonic fanfics around announced a sequel for it.

I decided that even if my own writing was gonna be poop in comparison, I might as well solidify it into an actual story. I've actually had ideas for it floating around for years, I already have a bunch of key plot moments in mind, just have to fill in the blanks. I only recently managed to figure out how to coherently write up the first Storm Drive chapter too, so I went ahead and wrote it down. Now I can at least say I have a full coherent chapter to prove my ideas, even if it is cheesy and cringy.

This is mostly just me documenting my own ideas, but I see no harm in sharing it with my friends and getting a bit of criticism/reaction or an idea or two. Not sure if I'll finish it or even publish it, but eh, might as well wing it.

....on a side note, was Waluigi's Italian insult too vomit-inducingly unfitting? I'm keeping it regardless, just asking for an opinion.

make it a giant robot that can suck up anything and turn it as parts, like weapons and armor (then make the design similar to gurren lagann and getter robo, eggman had a mazinger in sonic x so it isn't a stretch)

This will do nicely! It is pretty in character for Eggman to build an Anime Super Robot. He'd probably plaster his 'stached face onto it too. Thanks for the idea, Gudako!

Well that's not a very good joke. They're two different characters. Shadow was also in (at least) three games before he used guns in one game and then didn't use them again.

Give Sonic two guns

The fact that people in the Sonic world are either colorblind or dumb enough to confuse Shadow for Sonic doesn't help matters.

Also, I've sorta decided on the machine Eggman's gonna be using and gotten an overall outline of the chapter. Some potential feedback locations are bolded

The device is called the Magnetizer Matrix (alternate suggestion for the word "matrix" welcome, but it has to start with M for alliteration), attached to the basic Eggmobile Basically it uses some kind of magical Chaos Emerald powered magnetizing power to tear machines apart and reconstruct them into robot minions by using small Magnetizing Modules launched from the device. They come with magical magnetic shields that block almost everything, but Tails tricks Eggman into revealing a weakness in the same way Eggman tricked Tails into revealing the fake emerald plot in SA2 ("Because you just told me, fat man" is what I might make Tails say, unless you guys have a better idea) and Team Sonic goes to town on them.

After the robot army is wiped out, Eggman activates plan B and changes modes for the Magnetizer Matrix. This causes the thing to assimilate the scraps of the Magnetizing Module robots into itself, which combine in a Super Sentai-esque way (complete with Tails fanboying and Sonic lampshading) and forms a giant mustached Super Robot, which is named the Magnetizer Matrix Master Mecha. (if you guys can make the name longer while still keeping alliteration and making sense, be my guest)

Then the MMMM basically wipes the floor with Team Sonic thanks to its new impervious super magnet shield, but then Team Dark and Team Rose (minus Big who's gone fishing) show up to help. Then the good guys and bad guys are evenly matched with the shield unbroken but the robot's attacks kept at bay until Omega tries something risky. He takes a Magnetizing Module, purposefully gets absorbed into the MMMM (with Rouge being worried but Shadow knowing what's up and trusting Omega, I like seeing Team Dark's strong bond like we got in 06 and I will showcase it if you guys think it's OK), then he somehow takes partial control of the MMMM and tears its magnet shield apart along with a good chunk of its body, exposing the Matrix's core. Then the heroes wail on it and do considerable damage that causes it to partially break, and Amy's hammer gets lodged into an important bit. A Hammer in the Gears if you will.

Eggman doesn't notice, knocks Omega out of the MMMM, then prepares to flatten the heroes with a super move, but the damaged Magnetizing Matrix with the Hammer messing things up further goes nuts and sends Eggman flying (all the way back to his base, which he somehow survives) before tearing the MMMM back into scraps that form something similar to the "cloud funnel" the Storm Drive used. Then the MM promptly explodes and opens the portal, launches some Emeralds and brings over some Crystal Stars.

....but I still can't start the chapter since I can't figure out how to start Eggman's invasion of a peaceful weekend day. In the Mario chapter, I showed a nice day at the beach before Bowser's Koopa Cloud Cruiser bombed the place. What peaceful s*** am I gonna put in here and how's Eggman gonna ruin it? I even have the location set: Somewhere in Station Square (long rebuilt since Chaos' attack), maybe a Mall or near the City Hall where the MM would have plenty of vehicles and appliances to scrap. Oh also, I'm probably gonna do the bookends thing I did in the first chapter too, with the heroes (minus Team Dark, who will leave like the Wario Bros) joining in the peaceful weekend day after beating the bad guy, so I need a peaceful activity for a lot of people besides going to the beach.

I think that line is a bit too harsh from Tails. Mocking someone for their weight isn't really something a good guy should do. Especially not Tails
