Am I missing anything? Any tips? I'm pretty bad at judging how good GPUs and things are.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Building your own computer is pretty easy, I've found that the hardest bit is getting a right selection of hardware together, so I usually leave that up to my brother. (Installing the OS used to be a pain, but dear god if W7 didn't make things easy)

One thing I gotta ask; no seperate speakers? Even my built in speakers are pretty lousy compared to my external speakers, and I'm using a Samsung Syncmaster T240HD.

And nothing on a mouse?

I'm planning on using the headphones that I'm wearing right now most of the time, so I'll probably get some external speakers later. Also, for a mouse, the one I have right now is pretty s***, but I can't seem to find any cheap, good ones on newegg (I'm hoping to buy all my hardware parts from one place).

Logitech has some decent ones, but I don't think they offer any gaming mice, if that's what you're after.

Lol. Don't they make controllers for the PC? Anyways I might keep my mouse, because apparently it's $18 on NewEgg.

I'm not like programming my own OS or anything.

Putting parts in a case is, in essence, not difficult at all.

I always thought people were more discouraged by the OS installation.

Installing Windows XP was a lot of things. Userfirendly, it was not.

Apparently installing Windows 7 is as easy as entering the disk, waiting 10 minutes and rebooting. That's what I've heard.

Well, it took closer to an hour, but yeah, that was about it.

Ooooh, the hours I spent in the windows setup screen, trying to figure out why the hell I just had to deal with another Blue Screen of Death... What? I never said I was skilled at building a PC...

Take the DDR3 RAM over the DDR2 RAM. Just my thought, but if you're looking to conserve price, go with the DDR2.
Otherwise, looks good.

i-7 isn't worth it in my opinion. AMD quads are what you should look in to. They might actually use less power too!

Otherwise, this looks good.

My parents are trying to limit my budget somewhere around $1000, maybe even lower.

FMLLLLLLLL.

EDIT: Holy s***. Thanks for the recommendation, Thai.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor HDX945WFGMBOX

EPIC $250 PRICE DROP.
And the specs are about the same as well.
