One thing I noticed is back in 0.9a it was relatively easy to dthrow->up air->knee, but in 0.9b there's too much lag to go up air to knee. It's not even that his areal attacks take longer it just seems to have a buffer zone where I'm not allowed to throw out attacks, and I don't think it's just a new mechanic because I can throw out fair-> fair in rapid succession with black mage.

Falcon finally feel manly again. Aerials aren't stupidly fast with a few percent less damage overall. No dumb chain-grabs. Well, his Fthrow one still works, on some characters; he just has to Jump-cancel Grab to slide a bit farther each time.

And air Raptor Boost-Power doesn't put to helpless when you land a hit with it. It's pretty stylish how you can do Short-hop Side-special, double-jump into Knee/Stomp. SSStylish combo setup potential.

Falcon feels really different from before
I guess I'll have to get used to it, but still, overall I really think he's been nerfed. Not heavily but still.
First his Up-B, I might be wrong but it looks like it doesn't go as high as before.
Because of this and higher falling speed, I can't extend my combos and go offstage as much as before.
Also 3 of his moves were nerfed : d-tilt, nair, and d-throw. Each of these were extremely good for combos, having really low knockback and good hitstun, now they have increased knockback which makes them good but as much as they used to be.
Falcon Punch is faster tho that's cool.
Also Falcon Kick sends the opponent forward, at least more often than the previous Falcon Kick which often sent the opponent in the air.
It might be a viable kill move now.
Also upair to knee is more difficult now.

Knee is still cool as f*** however

yea I think Falcon got nerfed (but balanced compared to what he was in 9A)
it's not bad though
you have to work harder for kills and combos, which I like
but that means I can't play without thinking lol

guess playing falcon means I'm gonna have to act more carefully

Captain Falcon just takes more execution now. His moves have more frames, and he falls faster.

I pulled a sick combo with him this morning.

I think you mean the skill curve got steeper lol.

I can no longer get uair->knee as easily, I cri evrytim ;_;

If the Falcon doesn't work for you, you can switch to another character. I find him just as good as he was before (despite being more difficult to use), and I'm considering making a Captain Falcon tips video to help Falcon mains adjust to v0.9b.

I find it harder to chain uair into other attacks, which is what I do most of the time. He also doesn't seem like he can chaingrab anymore. I'm deciding to put him back as a secondary, since at least he has a faster Falcon Punch.

All I ever did was nair, upthrow->nair, and when I saw them go flying a certain distance, I went in with uairs and (hopefully) into a knee. The uair part really makes it hard for me to adjust, as Falcon is now more like Melee and I'm terrible with Melee Falcon.

So basically, If you watched me play with the current Falcon and compared it to my Melee Falcon they would look pretty much the same lol

I'm honestly not liking the new Falcon. There's alot of restriaints to his character.
I'd say he's worse than his Melee counterpart, but not Brawl bad. He does lack the buffs the other characters have, outside the faster Falcon Punch, Falcon Kick, and improved Raptor Boost.

Least he has some good sides I suppose:

Extremely fast, both in movement and attack speed (for the former, somewhat).
Above average-amazing combo game.
Has lots of power.
Can take quite the beating and still come back to destroy you more.
Possible Low-Mid tier material.

His weaknesses include: His recovery (while improved, it still stinks), being tall, can have a harder time KO'ing (y u no land Knee as easily?), having a very low short hop, and being a fast faller (easily combo'ed and chaingrabbed).

While Falcon was made to be more simliar to his Melee self, that didn't exactly settle well in the SSF2 enviroment. The place where everyone can combo just as well as Falcon.

Overall, Falcon is still a decent character. While he lacks the spammy uair, his nair makes up for alot of it's loss. Still too laggy to do good combo's with uair tho.
