So anyways, I'm making a Mario Kart engine/game. I already have the way characters are supposed to be controlled and its correct, no you cannot see it or don't ask to see it (because I'm sure you don't care). I got the engine from MFGG.net so its not mine but I would like to make it into a game.

Ok so I already know how to make the character move around a map (by using a path). Next I wanna know how to make the character turn in that certain direction instead of facing the same way when they start the race. The AI character faces right the whole time and I need it to face in all directions when it turns on that certain point. Please note that I am not using just the basic directions, up, down, left, and right. I am also using diagonal-directions, if you wanna call them.

I think I explained that pretty well but I know and can tell that I'll need some coding done. I just don't know where or how to start.

I'm making an RPG-ish game.... and I'm trying to find out the variable for the View 1 x and y points.... so I can make the people's talking appear at the bottom of the view around the main character... If that made any sence... So I just need to know what the variable is for View 1 Y and X (Like what it is named... EX: mouse_x)

OK, this probably sounds extremely idiotic, but here's my problem.
You know what I can't get Gamemaker to do?


ANYTHING.
About all I can do is add rooms, sprites, objects, etc. but I can't get them to do anything. Heck, I can't even get my sprites to appear on-screen!

What am I doing wrong here?

Me. I have made lots of games (never publish them). All I really do is create basics engines for people and then one
day I'm going to just put them all on the net. The previous engine I've just made was a metroid engine but it's not done.
I can code and all of that jazz. There are only certain things that I really can't do yet and I am still learning such as
slopes and 3D coding. I don't need those at the moment though because I am working on a fighting game (well I just started) :nod:
